    New drive format options PLEASE

So, a few minutes ago I went to change my install location for my games but here is one issue, mc c drive is full so, I went to change my drive location and, then it said that it needed to be NTFS (New Technology File System) but my 128gb drive is in the EXFAT (Extensible File Allocation Table), but that is not supported by the Xbox app, so please make it so EXFAT is able to be installed on.

    :)

    New drive format options PLEASE

Hello , sorry to hear you're having trouble with your drives.

As of right now the only way to request a feature for your system would be to go here https://www.reddit.com/r/windowsinsiders/ and upvote a previous ideal or post a new one.

    External hard drive help

I don't have an Xbox 360 to format this drive. The drive itself is connected via USB 3.0 cable. The option to format the drive does not exist when I select it in the storage tab in system settings. The only option is "view content." the drive is a Seagate
    2TB slim brand new.

    External Harddrive limitations/restrictions

If you select the "Format" option, it will deleted everything on the hard drive.

If you select the "Customize" option, it will create a new partition for the Xbox 360. You will only be able to use a maximum of 16GB though. Also the Hard Drive has to be formatted to FAT32.

Please Help with Xbox 3.5TB External Hard Drive.

so here's what i've tried, and still nothing works

    1) i formatted the drive on my computer to NTFS, as it says on some guides i have read online, it sort of a way to reset the device completely.

When you formatted the drive, did you UN-check the Quick Format option?

From what I read from your description, it might be that there is some corruption on the drive, that prevents proper reading/writing to certain parts of the drive.

However, if you only choose to Quick Format the drive, the PC will only erase the "Table of Contents" of the drive, not the actual content.

Please try to format the drive again with the Quick Format option unchecked. This will really write over every part of the drive, and if your PC hangs or stutters while doing a proper format of the drive, the drive is probably defective, and you should check
if the drive is still within factory warranty.

Very frustrating external hard drive issues...

Thanks for the fast response. The drive is currently formatted to my PC, and is showing up as NTFS. After I partitioned the drive, and the XBOX One didn't give me the format option, I formatted it on my laptop, and then plugged it back into the XBOX One,
and that's when it gave me the option to format, but booted me to the storage device menu before the formatting was completed. I've tried to format it with no partition at all, just unallocated space, and it would not detect the drive. I tried one primary
partition, and it recognized the drive, but no format option was given. The only way I can get a format option the show up on the XBOX One at all is to have the partition split the drive in two, and then format it on the PC... then it just boots me before
the format is complete. This drive works fine too. I've been using it for 3 months with no issues.
