New controller not working with headset

I was playing and both my headset and controller were working fine. I grabbed my brand new controller and plugged in my headset and no sound or power is going to the headset for some reason. I can't figure out why? I plugged in the old controller to the
headset and it worked again. The controllers are identical

Audio problem

So i have the newer controller with the 3,5 mic jack and i wanted to use me beats headset on the controller ..... but its not working im hearing buzzing tru the headset but no sound what do i do?

Controller mic

got this brand new controller yesterday and have been using a headset and out of nowhere my headset just stops working and it’s not the headset it’s the controller because the headset works perfectly fine on my old controller and now whenever I plug in my
headset on my new controller it makes a loud staticky noice and won’t work

Try checking if there is an
update available for the controller and try again connecting the headset.

BOught a stereo headset as well as a new controller. wouldn't you know- the old headset works fine with the new controller and the new headset doesn't work with old controller.

Problem- DEAD controller headset port.

Their is no mute button, either the two headsets don't work or the port where the mic plugs into on the controller doesn't work anymore, you can either try the headsets with another controller or buy a new headset.

The headset is brand new. I have trued 4 controllers none of them work. The headset works on my laptop. The microphone with the criss through shows whether or not i have a headset plugged into a controller. Headsets have worked in the past on these controllers.
Believe it to be a microsoft issue. Many people complaining about the same issue online.

Yes. As soon as the controller is in "wired" mode the headset works fine(audio in and out), But when in "wireless" mode "voice coming out of the headset" works but "voice coming into the headset" doesn't work. Maicrosofiti BR, did you say when you bought
a new controller the wireless now works fine with the headset?

This is an Xbox One (the regular, run of the mill original).

The headset is a Hyper X Cloud Stinger. It has worked fine for over a year, and still works on another controller, so I can say for certain it is compatible.

The controller is a new-type custom-coloured, official one, new as of December. The controller in which the headset works is a new-type red controller, maybe a year old.
