    I got a new controller, and people in my party or game chat couldn't hear me unless I shouted so I took the controller back and got a replacement, same thing happened, I then took that back and got a different type that was more expensive and its still
    doing it, I checked on my old controller which is the same make and the exact same controller as the new one and the mic works perfectly ive tried everything and nothing is working, it worked for alittle bit and then when i unplugged it and went back on later
    it isn't working again

    Controller mic problem

    what controller you using wired or wireless? if it works on the other controller use it, the new controller you got take it back and get a new one and say to them its not working for the mic. so if that helps you out buddy, or see if any stuff is in controller

    I know the microsoft chat adapters fail quite a bit - maybe the M80 does as well?

    The second controller you tried with - was it a new model or the old one?
    New one although i did not try the 3.5mm connection on the controller. Only on my iphone and it worked there. I could talk througb the mic on phone call.

    Home Page of my XBOX 1S shows a muted mic...HELP!!!

    I have tried many ways and several times to unmute the mic icon on the top right corner of my homepage. My headphones, nor my mic works. My controller is wireless but my headphones/mic plugs directly into the xbox controller. It was working fine
    a few days ago and now it's not working at all. The headset is new. Any ideas?
    Try turning the xbox off and then turn the console back on with your mic already plugged into your controller. If that doesnt work try going into settings and see if updating the controller works
