    New controller disconnecting


    I got a new controller to use with my Xbox One. It randomly disconnects from the system and freezes up with Xbox logo still lit up. Only removing-replacing the battery or plugging in the USB cord reconnects it. The problem happens randomly, within seconds
    or after hours. I have tried both the MS Charge and Play battery and regular AA batteries with same results. The consol and controller are updated. My original controller works fine. Any way to fix this or is it a defective controller?

    My controller keeps disconnecting from my xbox. I have bought new controllers and it still disconnects even with the new controller. I have the Day one xbox. Any help will be nice.

    Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue trying to play with your new controller.

    The way it sounds, your controller is more than likely in need of replacement. If you bought it less than 90 days ago, then you should be able to get it replaced by either visiting our

    device support     site, or by getting in contact with
    customer support     and seeing if an agent could help you out with that. You probably want to go through the troubleshooting here

    Troubleshoot your Xbox One wireless controller     either way and see if there's any steps there that you missed that might help out.

    Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
    Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
    Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
