new console cant use wifi after first time setup and update

i got a brand new xbox one console on 22/12/14, went to set up on xmas eve and during setup it asked to connect to WIFI, this was done successfully however during initial update it said update failed and console was then unable to use wifi saying hardware
issue, it has connected and updated using LAN however i can still not use wifi. i have spent 3 hours online with supposed xbox support who are clueless and say it is common and as LAN is working they dont see what the issue is, well the issue is my router
is no where near console and need wifi and if something is faulty then surely somethin shud be done

can anyone advise on how to get this wifi working again please, done power cycle and factory reset and no change

Xbox One Console power off when connecting to wifi

Has the console ever been able to connect once and update so you can actually use it?

If not, and this is the first time you try to set the console up, temporarily try to use a wired connection, just to get the console set up and up to date.

After the initial setup and console update, you can try to use WiFi again, and see if the problem persists.

If the console still shuts off when connected to WiFi, you should send the console in for service through

Brand new Xbox one - don't turn on after first update and starts everything over and over

Hi!

This is a brand new Xbox one, and the second Xbox one of house. After plug everything and turn it on, choose language and setup wifi, the first update starts and finish ok. when Xbox try to reset, it never turn on and the power button don't works anymore.
after that, the power led turns orange. if I unplug the power cord, I can turn it on again, but the initial setup starts from begining (language, wifi setup, dowload,update, reset) and the console turns off and don't turn on again without unplug the power
source.

I already tried to change the power source from my other Xbox one, but everthing happens the same way.

Some idea?

As you did a factory reset already, there isn't much else that can be done if that didn't resolve it for you.

When you go to your Network settings and select "Setup Wifi" is that when you get the error about hardware issue or can you see Wifi networks to pick and then you get the error when you try to connect?

Regardless of what the Support people say, you can and should request to send your console in for repairs via -

support.xbox.com/.../repair-process or take it back to the retailer you purchased the console from (quickest way to get up and running again) for a replacement

For the cost of the console, any defect isn't acceptable even if you can work around it.

I'm guessing that the update has reset the console's trust relationships with other devices. I don't have Wifi but did have Media Center setup for my XP laptop which is now gone after the console update.

Suggestion: Re-run the Network Setup - Wifi Setup on your console and/or wifi access point.

If you use a wired connection it should update fine. For some reason some consoles seem to have an issue with the Wifi that gets patched after the first update and work fine then.
