New chrome faceplate interference = disconnect. What to do?

I modded my old white controller with black chrome top and bottom with silver chrome front and back pieces. Looks so cool. I wave 30 of Gears of War Horde I kept getting a disconnect warning. Thinking it was a battery problem, I changed them out. Still
the problem continued. Frustated, I went to bed. I get up this morning and do a search to find that using a chrome aftermarket face plate can be the culprit. Now, my question is where on the board is the wireless signal come from? I would think at the
front, like a remote. I may change out the front plate to see. If anyone knows, please tell.

I've got a few more steps for you to try ChristopherBlue! Do you have any objects that might be running an interference? Such as Microwave ovens, Cordless phones, Wireless routers, Chrome faceplates, Metal dividers, Shelves or Doors on an entertainment center
cabinet? If you do, can you move these aside to see if that helps the connection. Can you also disconnect any other wireless devices that are currently synced to your console? I'm just trying to remove as many obstacles as possible! If the controller still
does not function properly, it may be time to retire it. Let me know how these steps do work out for you though!

You could get baned for posting about mods. Its against the code of conduct and terms of agreement.

 

I would hardly call replacing a casing as modification, more as customization.

There has been no change to the internal parts, no additional parts, switches etc. So no illegal gaming advantage has been added.

The link above states that chrome covers can interfere with the wireless signal. All licensed chrome covers are fine as they are tested for interference issues.

 

^idk. But he put the word modded in his post and technically he did modify the controller from its original state.

 

Changing the plastic on a controller is a customization not a mod.
