Xbox app does not open in continnum for phones

why can't the Xbox s app work in continuum mode for windows phone? The app is grayed out and does not go into an desktop version of the app. Why does the Xbox app not work but Instagram, edge, photos, Groove music, and other apps work?

If you have windows 10 you can use the xbox app to download all your captures/screenshots without first uploading from your xbox one. Just click game dvr and shared everything your xbox has capped should be there even if it's not saved yet.

This is how i download mine to pc now. Also in the same app you are in on xbox one you should be able to select edit, and edit any clips save it then upload it. I'd check your privacy settings and make sure you have it set so you can not only cap but share your caps with others.

I fully recommend windows 10 xbox app though if you have it, skip the upload step as you have to upload to both onedrive and the shared thing.Click to expand...

Guys i think i found the reason for not being able to save screenshots, i didn't have Live Gold, i had a 2-day Gold Trial code from my physical purchase of Sunset Overdrive, i activated it, all the screenshots that i took after activating can now be saved and shared to OneDrive or Twitter, although any screenshot taken before the Live Gold activation still can't be saved or shared. Man this is unnecessary. Also thanks guys for your pointers.

Haven't used some of the apps for a long time, think i'll go and see if there are any new updates or improvements to the ones I usually use (like spotify, mixer, upload studio, etc). Hopefully find some new ones while i'm at it! Would like to see an Instagram
app on Xbox. Would be really cool to be able to upload screenshots/clips directly from the console to an Instagram profile via the app.

Based on the description you posted, it seems that you have an issue with Xbox wherein you want to know how to post your game clips/screenshots to the Xbox live feed.

Let’s work together in finding the best solution to this issue.

In the meantime, we would like you to try the steps provided from this link: Share game clips and screenshots | Xbox Support

You can share screenshots to Twitter or create a link for clips which you can post on social media.

Press Win + G to open Xbox Game Bar, then select Widget Menu > Gallery.
To share a game clip or screenshot, select Open file location, then use your app of choice to share your capture.

Note Game Bar only shows captures that are saved locally on the Windows device you’re using. Captures uploaded to the Xbox network are viewable and shareable only in the Xbox mobile app.
