    No Video from Set Top box trhough XBOX One

    I plugged in the HDMI from Set top box to XBOX One. HDMI from XBOX One to Amplifier. HDMI from Amplifier to TV. XBOX One returns either a black screen with periodic fuzz, or a message saying weak or poor signal quality from Set Top Box.

    Possible Issues:

    1. Bad HDMI Cable
    2. Bad Set Top Box
    3. Bad TV HDMI port
    4. Bad Amplifier and associated errors
    5. XBOX no compatible with my set top box
    6. XBOX has hardware issue on input side of HDMI
    Test #1: I unplugged the HDMI in end from the Set Top Box to the XBOX One, and Plugged into TV HDMI port. Perfect picture. Its not a cable issue. Its not a coaxial issue.

    Test #2: Plugged Set top box into Amplifier. Amplifier to TV. Perfect picture. Its not an amplifier issue or the cables from the amp to the TV.

    Test #3: Swapped out HDMI cables and tested from set top to TV: All cables worked perfectly. Its none of the cables that are bad.

    So what does this leave? Well from my list above, which granted may not be everything, its not 1, 2, 3, or 4. So its either 5 or 6.

    I am using a Frontier (Verizon) set top box, FiOS, Motorola QIP 7100 p1. In the setup menu this is not an available option, however Frontier FiOS is. Thats what I tested out. System said it "Knows how to talk to my box" during the setup phase.

    So any ideas? Do I need a new set top box that is compatible? Do I have bad HDMI hardware in the XBOX One like what plagued the PS4?

    If you continue to struggle with this issue, is it optional for you to connect the amplifier to the Xbox via optical cable as an alternative?

    I had similar issues (though with completely different hardware) with HDMI and moving to optical solved the problem. Though, it was only an ideal solution for me as the Xbox One is the only input device I'm using. If I was using multiple this may not be ideal.

    My TV has the latest firmware and the amplifier is in the same room. A transceiver will cause ALLM and VRR not to work which is why I don't connect the Xbox One X to the amplifier because it doesn't pass them through to the TV. That is why I connect directly to the TV.

    Thanks for your reply. Let me clarify my problem. There's no TV or remote-controlled amplifier in the system, that's why I would need to control the volume of the optical audio output of my Xbox One S. I'm sure it's technically (on hardware-side) possible,
    because I can adjust its volume in Spotify through my mobile's or PC's Spotify application.
