Hi i have just made a account today because i got banned on my old account, i bought a new 3 month subscription to xbox live at the shops. a tryed to redeem the code but it said "More information is needed to complete this purchase" (i added security proofs
so its not that) i then continue and re enter my Email address and password then my first and last name. Then it comes to the problem "billing info were im asked to put in the Billing address, city, postal code, phone and email. So my questions are :why do
i need to put billing info in with a pre payed card? if i put the correct info in will i be getting letters & phone calls from microsoft saying that i owe them money when i dont? please help thank you!

You can use pre-paid cards, but you would need to make sure the billing information for the card matches the billing information on you account. Not all pre-paid cards let you update that information.

Green dot Visa card help

My advice to people with pre-paid visas is to use it to buy a Xbox subscription or currency card and then add that to the account. Because the pre-paid card has a set amount on the card, you could wind up getting a billing suspension due to lack of funds
if the service tries to charge you.

That information is needed for security purposes in case it's needed. It would be used to verify that you are the owner of the account. You will not receive any letters or phone calls from Microsoft.

@IntrepidSoul: I sincerely hope that his credit card company will not provide the billing address over the phone. THAT would be a serious opportunity for social engineering.

@OP: In addition to the information onyx62is posted, if his account has been locked for non-payment, he will need to clear that account balance with customer service before he will be able to redeem a pre-paid card. Once the balance is paid, then the account
will be unlocked shortly thereafter, and it will then accept pre-paid cards.

Hi there,

You can add the pre-paid card a few different ways. From the store on the console you can go to redeem code, enter it, and it will apply the membership to the account that the code is redeemed under. To be safe, be sure only the account that you want the
subscription to go to is signed in.

The debit/credit card is put on the account if you have auto-renew enabled, and don't add another pre-paid subscription card to the account before the renewal takes place. I've never had my payment option billed for a subscription since I add new pre-paid
cards on well before the renewal is up.

Isn´t the issue fixed if you use pre paid card but have a billing address on your account and working cell phone number?

You don´t need any card on your account if you don´t want.
