New account - gamertag

Hi,

So I made an account a while ago on my boyfriends Xbox and didn't really use it! But I tried logging in on my brothers Xbox and it had me making a whole new account even though I used the same email address and password, therefore giving me a new gamertag.
It's weird because I can still log in on my boyfriends xbox and the old gamertag/account appears.

Not sure how to get this to come up on my brothers Xbox!

And thoughts would be great!

Ran into an issue with backwards compatible games. (Please Help.)

Your old gamertag is in the xbox 360 cache you have to go to settings and remove the linked account before you can add the new one. This happened to me 2 when i changed the lame tag microsoft assigned me. Even if you put the correct information and passcodes ot wont download your new gamertag until you remove the old linked account

Or if you switched your gamertag to a whole new Microsoft account then your currency would not switch over to the new Microsoft account either. Really any kind of switching you do it states that any currency you have does not go with your gamertag.

"When you change to a new Microsoft account, the current funds in your original Microsoft account do not transfer to your new Microsoft account." is what its says for switching a gamertag to a new Microsoft account, found here:

Well, you just made a little mistake in it. Setting up a new account with the correct email address was not meant to be set up as a new gaming account on your Xbox, but as a new account on live.com because then it has no gamertag associated.

Take this guide here and do it again. In the guide is also explained how to unbound the unwanted gamertag from your live account. Just keep in mind that "create a new account" is not meant as "create a new Xbox profile" but as create a new account on www.live.com

Creating a new account and changing the gamertag. However, when I tried to change my original account's gamertag to the new one, it was still unavailable. It seems that even if I use the gamertag on a different account, it remains locked.

Hi there,

unfortunately it is not possible to delete that account that was created, but to be able to use that new Microsoft Account (email) you will need to download that profile to the console and wait 30 days after that you should be able to move that new gamertag
to a different (new) account so you'll be able to use this for your gamertag.

You can also create a new Microsoft Account to move your gamertag to it instead of the one holding the new gamertag.
