  1. New 4K monitor in preparation for Xbox Series X issue.

Hello, I have just recently bought a new monitor for the Xbox series X. I’m currently using it on my Xbox One S. The first time I connected it up I had issues, the screen would flash black and then I’d see the dashboard, back to black...dashboard. I switched
to a different HDMI cable and it was working fine.

However that only lasted for one play session, I’ve just booted up my console again and the screen was black, I unplugged the HDMI from my box and back in and it was working fine again.

However, when I open up the quick guide and move to an app, my monitor goes black as if it’s changing its source or altering something. It’s like it’s turning off the HDR because it’s moving to an app that doesn’t need it, but the screen doesn’t come back
on. The screen stays black and doesn’t come back on unless I unplug and replug in the HDMI.

My monitor is the Samsung LU28R550UQUXEN

Any advice or knowledge is greatly appreciated. I love the monitor, games looks fantastic even on the One S. Thank you in advance.

    :)

    1440 @120hz or 4K HDR @60hz

Altough the Xbox One X supports 1440 and 120Hz, games are not going to run on 120Hz, console is not prepared for that yet.

So my best advice is to go for 4K HDR if your monitor supports it, and when the Series X is released, you will be able to use 1440/120Hz!

White Flickers while watching movies/streaming? 4k UHD 60hz monitor no HDR

I had the same / similar issue with my old 4K 60hz none HDR / HDMI 2.0 monitor when watching movies and some times in games with the Series X,

As soon as i upgraded my monitor to a 4K 144hz monitor that has HDR / HDMI 2.1 ports, i no longer had this problem,

I'm not sure what the problem is, but my guess is that the HDMI 2.1 port on Series X doesn't play well with HDMI 2.0 port of monitors, or it's the Series X trying to force HDR on, even if the monitor does not have / support HDR and the HDR in Series X menu's is turned off.

Monitor for my Xbox one X

    Hello,

Sorry for my language, (google translate).

I'm looking for a monitor for my Xbox one X, ...

My question is, is it worth buying a monitor at more than 60HZ in 4k ???

Does Xbox One x accept more than 60 Hz ???

    Thank you for your answers.
It is worth buying a 4K 144hz monitor for Xbox Series X, However you need to make sure the monitor has HDMI 2.1,

"Does Xbox One X accept more than 60hz ?"

    At 4K , No,

Xbox One X uses HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 2.0 bandwidth can only do 4K at 60hz,

HDMI 2.1 of the Xbox Series X will allow it to go to 4K at 120hz, but only if you have a TV or monitor with HDMI 2.1, and a refresh rate of 120hz or higher.

4k portable monitor doesn't work with Xbox Series X. Something to do with YCC 4.2.2

It doesn't need to claim to be compatible, the monitor states it can do 4k all 4k monitors are compatible with ps5 and xbox series x. It's technology and science, backwards compatibility, the engineers even stated it worked fine on xbox series x, so they lied to me? There are even answers saying its compatible with The 4K portable monitor is compatible with Xbox series s, it states in the answers.

    Even stated

Q: Would this work with nintendo switch and ps5?
A: Yes it works with any device with an HDMI port.

The reason it might not have stated this in description is the release of this monitor came out before ps5 and xbox S/X. All HDMI tv's are backwards compatible and future proof based on the capabilities of ther monitor, 4k thus 4k devices. I just know this monitor is being oversold as a true 4k monitor when clearly it's not, I believe the IPS screen is not 2160p just the electronics are perhaps set to 1800p, if the display is not a native 2160p then it's not 4k correct?

That meaning if it goes out of sync on occasion then it can't be a true 2160p display.
