    NEW 1TB EXTERNAL.HARD DRIVE NOT WORKING


    Just bought a new 1tb hard drive for my Xbox one. And I have tried over and over the troubleshooting route, and it's not reading it at all. Did anyone else have this trouble and is there another way to get it to recognize?

    xbox 360 license transfer?

    on the old xbox 360 can i transfer the data to flash drive even the external hard drive?

    I know that limit is 32gb but can I transfer the data to 1tb external hard drive?

    I want to transfer to the 1tb external hard drive then redownload dlc and profile onto it....?

    The reason I want to use it on the 1tb is because i was going to buy new hard drive later fkr the dlc and use 1tb hard drive for something else.

    Hm, has this always happened when using this specific hard drive or is this hard drive a new addition, or is this a new problem? It's also quite possible that if this is the first time your using the 1TB HD the console might have some sort of issue reading
    the 1TB data since the console itself can only read up to 16GB of whatever you plug in using USB.

    I don't have a 1TB hard drive myself so I can't test to see if this happens with all 1TB's or 1TB Seagates etc.

    Hi,

    Is your external hard drive rated USB 3.0?

    Did you try your external drive on all the USB ports?

    If you have a PC or laptop and plug it in, does the computer detect it?

    The Xbox One supports all types of external USB 3.0 hard drives, but, could you let us know which drive you purchased please?

    Please provide the above information. However, this has helped some with external HDD issues.

    Disconnect the external HDD from the console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console
    (DO NOT connect the external HDD Yet). Once it is back up and operational connect the external HDD and test for results. Did the XBOX recognize the drive? Let us know. Good Luck!

    Disc based games=smaller Hard Drives?

    a 1tb Hard drive is $70 or so, a 500gb hard drive is about $60. the price difference between hard drive sizes are miniscule until you get above 1tb.
