So i have an xbox one x, cool. we have an update to allow 120hz, cool. Plug in 2k monitor that supports 144hz and my one x says nope only 1080p at 120 for you mister. May i mind you i use the 2k monitor on my computer using 2k at
144 no issues so the monitor is not the problem. So whats going on? Update says you can run 2k at 120 but the xbox is telling me i cant unless i decrease resolution.

Also im sure i can answer my own question here but the 120hz is just for anything but gaming because most devs have limited their games to either 30 or 60 frames.

    :)

  2. How Many Medics Does It??????

    [quote user="EYEB4LL95"]

I think its only a problem when your playing alone and dont get in a decent squad,if your with your friends or in a squad of random dudes with half a brain, then theres always enough ammo and med to go around.

You are right. Sometimes just want a quick match and join a random squad. Or I am trying to meet new battlefield players.

What is your monitor's model number? If you check the manual, there is usually a specific list of supported resolutions (with refresh rates) over each display input port. If 1440p/120Hz is not supported over HDMI, then your monitor may be incompatible for
    this setup.

It is true that most (if not all games) are currently capped to 30 or 60 frames. Game developers will need to issue a update for 120Hz support, similar to how we've waited for them to update their games to support 4K after the Xbox
One X got released. The latest system update for 120Hz is more of a fundamental step (IMO), so we'll just have to be patient for now.

But how comes i cannot see 1440p or 120hz options anymore?
I really can't say. I'm not well versed on this TV. What size is your screen?

    Does 1080P @ 120Hz work?

    49"

I don't know, 1080p @120hz worked fine till it disappeared

My Xbox series S won't run at 1440p 120fps even if my monitor says it can.

the monitor may support 144hz but as the xbox needs 120hz exact then most likely the monitors EDID (built in res list) does not include 120hz precisely.

PC's can be set to any res and the monitor will accept this if within range, consoles work via edid and vesa compliance meaning if the monitor does not include 120hz for that res in its list it won't work.

Why won’t it run 120 hertz

you do not need hdmi 2.1 for 120hz on any of the new consoles, please please please stop mis informing people this way.

you need hdmi 2.1 just for 4K and 120hz with VRR.

    1080p and 1440 120hz does not need hdmi 2.1

@op your monitor supports 144hz but does not list 120hz in its edid which the xbox requires to select that.
