Neverwinter on Xbox one, bait and switch fraud

So to put it quickly so that anyone can understand.

The developers posted over a month ago that an integral instrument in the upgrading process of enchantments(coalescent ward) would be released via trade bars(tb) at a discounted price 75tb as opposed to 200tb obtainable through lockboxes(1$) purchased with
ZEN the currency purchased with real$ of the game so people have been buying in advance the currency needed to take advantage of this.

At the last minute they decide that not only will they not be purchasable for the discounted advertised price they will not be purchasable at all with that currency and we must instead pay 10$ each for these wards.

So essentially they have taken our money and are not giving us what what we payed for and that we must pay more to get what we need.

bait and switch, fraud and a scam is how its being described, you name is is being tossed around.

people have bought months of vip at 10$ a month, keys 10$ a set tons of cash, Tons of cash spent in preparation of this sale only to have been scammed

Hey, guys! I'm very sorry to see the situation, but the offers that developers promote are up to their discretion to change. As you stated, they are already looking into it what their next steps are, and you will want to refer to them for updates. We do
not control content within the games themselves unless they were developed by Microsoft.

Additionally, I'd like to make sure you know that the cached version you have linked to is showing a snapshot from February 10th, not the 4th, and I am unable to find another version of the the cached site. I only let you know in case you are sharing it
other places.

Please do let us know of any changes that happen! Again, sorry to see the frustrations, and we hope Arc works with you guys to an amicable resolution.

I too have been affected by this and would like to know how Microsoft is going to support their players. I can't understand how Microsoft would allow the developers to do this and not be issuing all customers with refunds. Please update us. Thank you

 

I tried to open a support chat but it doesn't seem to work so here goes, this post above is accurate . Neverwinter is a cash scam, they've lied to the community and falsely advertised. They deserve to be shut down, that being said, is there any way I can
get back the money I was scammed out of? Thank you in advance.

 

This is something you would need to take up with the games developers/publishers.

You can try Xbox support
support.xbox.com/.../contact-us & explain whats happened to them & they may refund you but I think they'll just tell you to contact the games publishers/developers.

No one here on the forums can issue you with a refund.

PWE's title "Neverwinter" on the Microsoft platform "XBox One" is not being delivered as described in developer's patch notes/blogs/online discussions.

This game is a "free to play" title. To generate revenue, it utilizes in-game "microtransactions" through the use of an in-game currency called" "zen". 100 zen costs roughly $1USD.

The February 9th update for XBox One was to include an updated "Trade Bar" store - trade bars are another in game currency that are acquired through purchasing (with zen) keys to open chests.

Now, after announcing a content release, hold a sale, and generating (what I am assuming) tens of thousands of dollars on zen purchases, PWE/Cryptic changed what was being offered by adding a caveat to the end of a 3 week old announcement.

When the 2/9 update was released on the XBox One platform, Coalesent Wards, 5x Pack of Preservation Wards, and Blood Ruby" were all inauspiciously absent from the Trade Bar update. Instead all were available in the in game "zen market" for real life
dollars, rather than the in game currency "trade bars" as the entire player base was led to believe.

If this is not false advertising, bait & switch sales tactics, and a blatant money grab - I do not know what is.

 

As someone that has played this game from the first month it arrived on Xbox One, I can confirm the bait and switch tactic, most recently with Tuesday's release of Underdark. The poster above me has summarized the situation perfectly.

I sincerely hope that Microsoft investigates the false advertisement from PWE and delivers swift and severe discipline.

Wish I knew how to describe it, and what channels to go through in order to get MS to "help me".

Very frustrated with Xbox in general right now.. I've had a controller quit turning on altogether, a brand new one die within 40 days of purchasing, my chat headset quit working, and now this.. All within 60 days.

My live subscription ends this month, I'm fairly confident I won't be renewing if I can't get some magic resolution to all this (which even to me seems far fetched).

Still no response from X Box, and a crappy band-aid offered by Perfect world that does not even make up for or fix the scam they pulled. They still don't thin they've wronged anyone lol what a disgraceful developer.

 

Still waiting for a response myself. This is starting to look grim.
