NeverWinter is fun, but the ZEN prices are outrageous!!

Started playing the free to play MMORPG NeverWinter tonight and so far I'm really enjoying it, it's nice to have an online game like this available on the Xbox One. With that being said, I looked over the in-game store because I was interested in buying
the Dragonborn Legend Pack (the Dragonborn race looks awesome) and it's listed at 7,500 ZEN which is the equivalent of $80!? $80 for an additional race, no new content, just a race and an extra character slot, that's absolutely absurd. I know it's a free to
play game but come on now, when most FULL RETAIL games are $65 brand new, how can they justify $80 price tag? I'm going to keep on enjoying this game for as long as it keeps me hooked but I won't be spending a dime on that ripoff of a store.

Neverwinter Zen pricing

I noticed earlier when I was looking at neverwinter zen prices that the more zen you buy the more expensive it gets. It'll be cheaper for you to buy two 1000 zen packages than one 2000 pack and several smaller packs instead of the 5300 pack. I'm guessing
this is a mistake someone made over at Microsoft, is this something we can get a fix for?

I only know that this problem exists in Norwegian currency, In British pounds you pay less for each zen the more you buy, according to my English friend.

500 Zen . 29,50 NOK

1000 Zen - 59,00 NOK

2000 Zen - 149,00 NOK

5300 Zen - 549,00 NOK

10600 Zen - 799,00 NOK

You do get more stuff with the package than just the race but yes everything is ridiculously overpriced because PW is a Chinese developer. Games don't really sell over seas so most games end up as F2P games with ludicrous microtransactions to make money.
You might not buy it for $80, but somebody else certainly will.

While it is without a doubt overly expensive, you don't have to spend a single dollar on the things you want. In the game you earn Astral Diamonds from various sources, these can be exchanged for Zen. Think of it like currency exchange. You will need quite
a lot of AD (astral diamonds) for each Zen but it is an option if you want to farm for it without wanting to spend a single dollar.

 

Yeah but if you're honest with yourself unless you want to purchase the "Feral Giant Racoon Mount with Twin Rocket Launchers" you can still play the game without needing to throw money at Zen.

The Astral Diamonds that you can obtain on a daily basis may be exchanged for Zen, the same stuff you pay money for, on the Exchange in the Pause Menu.

Just the other day I traded in 4K worth of Astral Diamonds and am now the proud owner of 40 Zen.

At this rate I'm only a couple of months away from "The Old Grey Mare" mount myself!

 

Since launch,i spend € 0.......and trade some of my Astal Diamonds to get some Zen....But realised that i don't really need Zen.Useless for me.

But i don't find anything over priced.

Any buy to play AAA titles cost $ 60 + DLCs/season pass cost between $25-$50....

Nevewinter starts at $0 ,the rest is a question of responsability....

 

It's fun to see people complain about a free game (where you can play without buying extra). Price aside, the choice to buy is up to you & you can still experience the game without the zen market. Neverwinter is a time-based game either way you cut it &
the zen market is for players who want to advance faster/support/buy stuff for enjoyment. It bothers me that there are comments on here dogging someone for spending $300 on a game. Maybe this game brings him equal or more enjoyment than 5 AAA titles & is equivalent
in value.

Idk... its not like you can only get so far in the game without paying. Like someone said - you can convert Astral Diamond into Zen. Yeah it takes "time" & "grinding" but that is what the game is. Maybe you'll find that item worth 1.5 mil AA & convert it
to zen to buy you a mount.

 

yea I agree to a degree, I played World Of Tanks on the PC from beta days when it went full game I managed to get quite a few tanks and never paid a penny .. fair enough it took me ages and a lot of game hours but there is no way I'm paying £40 for high
tier tanks like my mates have.

I get wound up with the random bounce but man that game is addictive to me but not to the point I put any money into it lol ..

 

Luckily the game bored me to death before I ever felt the urge to spend real money on it.

 

I liked it but I did get bored after a few hours, I actually prefer it to ESO.
