Never got a chance to say thank you

Hi everyone, first time poster on any type of forum but I felt compelled to do so after my recent session on Dying Light. Apologies in advance for the overdrawn story.

I've only just started the game and have found it to be quite challenging. Whether it's constantly repairing **** weapons to missing poorly timed jumps thanks to my God-awful parkour skills. And don't even get me started on what happens at night...those
butt-faced rage zombies now have a starring role in my nightmares.

Anyway, there I am in one of the earliest missions of the game and I have to go and sort out some ruffians who are supplying one of the Tower guards with some fake antizin. It's the first time I've faced human AI opponents in the game and they are **** all
over me. Deflecting my attacks, shuriken throws and generally knocking my ass all over the place. The word noob was invented for scenarios such as this. It's literally the 4th level in the game! So there I am, charging in on my 7th attempt, armed with a ****
saucepan, when I encounter my first 'human' player who's joined my game. I immediately freak out as 99% of the time when you encounter a stranger in any type of multiplayer scenario you know it's going to go one of two ways. Either you die, or they do. So
I look at this player and he's wielding this glowing lightening scythe, decked to the nines in armor and I'm essentially protected by a potato sack.

I run. My thoughts are 'So I have to fight zombies, AI characters with throwing knives and NOW some techno grim reaper. **** that ****.' In my panic I end up back in the compound with the same goons who had been raping my level 4 ass for the previous hour.

'Come face me like a man!' one crows. 'I'll **** ki....'

All of a sudden lightening scythe dude turns up and breaks the guy's neck. He then methodically repeats this process with all 5 of the grunts in the compound. I know it's a game but I have spider monkeyed away to the top of the building out of a mix of sheer
terror and excitement. All of a sudden the human character speaks through his microphone and beckons me to come down and follow him. I'm reluctant at first and refuse to reply, out of general skepticism and my social awkwardness prevents me from speaking back.
But I comply as I'm genuinely intrigued by my masked protector and as I **** SUCK, think having someone like him around could be quite helpful.

So we go along to Rais's compound and before we head in, my new companion drops some items in front of me and tells me to pick them up. I oblige but don't pay attention to the contents as a cut scene starts up showing some unfortunate fellow have his hand
chopped off. Cheery.

Anyway, after the cut scene my internet crashes and my short lived partnership is cruelly ended. I continue playing the game offline and carry on my merry way. That's when I decide to check what the anonymous good Samaritan had given me. It's 100 first aid
kits and a pick-axe with 500+ damage! Now everyone will know/remember when you first start Dying Light healing supplies are few and far between and your rotten planks of wood & rusty pipes do bugger all damage to most of the enemies in the game. So when a
level 4 player is essentially handed a tool with the effective killing power of a nuclear bomb you know the next few hours are going to be fun. The tide has definitely **** turned. FEAR ME ZOMBIE ****!

Which brings me to the whole reason of my post. In my gleeful delight I remembered I never thanked my new friend. Suddenly I realized how selfish I must have come across. In his eyes, he's decided to help out a beginner by gifting
them some sweet items and the next thing he's disappeared without a simple acknowledgement 'What an ****'! Well, when I did manage to get back online I was unable find the guy's name on my xbox dashboard to send him a quick message of thanks. I've tried troubleshooting
through Microsoft's FAQ's and couldn't find anything. So I'm asking the community. Is there a way to view previous players you've linked up with? I just want to send my masked protector a quick thank you note so he isn't jaded by the experience and doesn't
feel like he can help out beginners in the future. If not, well, on the slim chance you're reading this post Techno Grim Reaper (not his actual gamer tag), THANK YOU for making the next 2 hrs of my playthrough so damn enjoyable. I killed about 300 zombies
in your name with Thor's **** hammer. It was glorious.
