Never buy MS product in first time again !!!

i wasn't even going to use my Day One Achievement, but i got so darn excited about using the Kinect to scan QR codes and one thing led to another....

really wish they would utilize the QR codes more, haven't seen anything else since launch.

 

Yop,more QR codes.Can't understand why all gift cards doesn't have it,yet.

 

@Zero Divided, when they were giving out codes for the Titanfall Beta, some of them were QR Codes. It works pretty well from the iPhones, but you need to lower the brightness on your screen or else it won't read it.

 

At what age do people realize how life works and how businesses and economics work? I am curious... let me guess... OP is 17?

 

The $75 isn't for everyone. It's just for the millions of 360 owners that haven't made the switch yet to Xbox One.

With the new games coming in 2015 that wont be playable on the 360, this is a very enticing offer for the 360 gamers hanging on until the end.

 

Any electronics will always cost more when it's first released

i think i only got the long code i had to type in, but i honestly don't recall. i have heard that there are apps that will convert to QR codes, but i haven't bothered with it yet, i rarely use codes.

 

carpe diem but really ... not sure how anyone can complain .. had they done this the day after sure .. but such is life in electronics.

 

Firstly, this is part of being a early adapter. You didn't think that the price would drop this soon? - well, anything can happen and as long as you are having fun on your Xbox One, why does it matter if someone buys the console
cheaper than you after 6/7 months (or however long it's been). Secondly, you got to play the console before others.

At least you have learnt your lesson for next generation.. don't rush into buying the next Xbox (or whatever brand) console if you can't justify the price tag.

 

Yes I can understand being upset but you would think they would help out the early adopters. But life goes on Day one and loving it!!!

 

laohuxia1982, I understand where you are coming from. This is happening very quickly. Only devices I have really ever seen this happen on are ones that are not selling so well anymore (even if they started out hot). Typically you do not see these things
in the first few months. Anyone should know that sales happen. And if the item has been out for 12 months it could happen tomorrow. But these things happened and are happening early.

It is not like early adopters are paying for early access or something. No, the item is available to anyone. You are an early adopter because you support the company. It would be different if you are getting actual early access.

I really do not care about this issue personally but I can definitely understand where you are coming from. It is one thing to buy a product that has been out for a while as sales can happen at any time. But it is another to a brand new product and have
all these thing happen so quickly. And it really is hurting the brand. I have heard some people say they will wait for the price drop that should be coming soon. They point out the removal of Kinect already and the deals MS is offering. Of course early
on, when I sold my first One to wait for some of these things, I was told many times "It will be a year or two. Enjoy the wait." Then a couple months back I get a console, 2 controllers (sold one for extra money back) 2 games and 1 year of Live Gold. Overall
it cost less than the console by itself. And I was able to sell the Kinect as well which helped reduce the cost even more. Of course they hate to admit they did not see this coming so soon.

 

I've been gaming on a next gen console since November 2013 while Joe Blow over here is only just now setting up his console trying to decide which game (that I've already played and enjoyed) he is going to spend his rebate on.

Where do people like the OP even come from? It's like they've been living under a rock. You buy something now and the chances are it'll be cheaper in just a few months or so (of course there are exceptions but clearly a games console isn't one...). And obviously
policies will change as well to meet the demand, it's only natural and it's been that way since the dawn of mankind - or at least since humans started trading stuff.
