Networking Difficulties

Good evening! I recently returned to University and attempted to connect my Xbox One to the secure wifi. I received a message saying that "This console supports WPA/WPA2 (personal), WPA2 (personal) and WEP network security protolcols, but your router is
using something else. You'll need to change your router's configuration." It recommended that I go to xbox.com/networkhardware, but I did not see any recommendations for the router my University uses ( a Cisco E13-577-wap). If anyone has any advice on this,
I would be immensely grateful. Thank you so much!

Hey OP - let us know if that fixes your issue. If not, you might try connecting directly to your modem with an ethernet cable, as the error code you mentioned in the first post is due to networking difficulties. Also - your achievements won't be lost, provided
you don't recover your account before you can sign in.

802.1X, for authentication? Meaning, for you to gain access to your University's protected network/WLAN and to the Internet-at-large, you would first have to, through browser, or an app, login with your login credentials, to have these validated
and authorized, before you have connectivity to the Internet-at-large.

Modified Xbox's can't cause network difficulties just report him.

most likely the problem is your internet network as it shows without any difficulty the networks of others so it is not about console hardware problem

Can i make a suggestion.

This sounds like something that has happened to me before after a router reboot.

How many items do you have linked wirelessly to your router?

after a previous reboot another device may have asurped your xbox in the pecking order.

Turn off or disconnect absolutely everything that uses your router. (Mobile phones / tablets / internet enable tv's / computers / consoles / anything else you can think of)

reboot the router when everything is disconnected.

Turn on the Xbox first and see if it connects. basically this will asign the first available link to your 360.
