    Network stats don't match actual download of games and apps?!


    Trying to figure this out but my Xbox One detailed network statistics show that I have 110mbps download and 30mbps upload. 0% packet loss, 80ms for latency and an open NAT. Why is it that when I download an actual game that I am only getting 45mbps download
    speed at the most? Any tips or tricks would be nice. Thanks.

    Ok here is a questions is your account region and actual region match?

    If not that would be why

    in order to download all games for gold games your account region and actual region must match

    @thjavo it is resolved you just dont have the correct settingsYour account region must reflect your actual region

    Tbat wasnt a server erorr you must match your actual region To get region locked content

    International laws state what you can and cnanot download

    Most triple a games are region locked for the best experience with live you must match your actual location

    @rhino you have a different situation which you must contact your ispTTerritories dont always report their ip right

    That is because the speed of the download is actually impacted by the server/network that you connect to to do the download. It can also be impacted by the number of people connected to the server at the time and it is generally further away from you than

    So pretty much even though my xbox is getting the speed of Internet at which I am paying for, the Xbox server itself from which I am downloading the game may not be able to give me the full speed? It makes sense to me, I guess I just assumed that the servers
    would be massive enough to support my speed. So do different games and apps download from different servers?

    Almost 20 hours and still installing a 9 GB update...

    The speed you get running the detailed diagnostics always connects to a server in Seattle no matter where you are in the word. It is not determined by DNS.

    The store downloads and updates all come from various content delivery network(CDN) servers around the world.

    The CDN you connect to is determined by your DNS.

    You can determine your actual download speed by checking the bandwidth usage in the network app. There is a stat for current usage. Just check current usage while something is downloading. If the speed is a lot lower than the speed listed in the detailed
    network stats then you are connected to a slow CDN and may benefit from changing DNS.

    If both stats are about the same the there will be no need to change DNS.

    Go to detailed network stats in the settings app to get download speed.
