Network problems .

Hey guys .

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place. These forums are hard to navigate through .

Look anyways i'll get straight to the point .

I have had good experiences since i bought the xbox one but for the past month or so i have been getting disconnected from Party chat with my friends .

The reason that comes up is "Your network settings block party chat" Or something along them lines .

Yet my Nat is set to OPEN .

Also this happens a good few times a week . One day i could talk to my friends for a whole day then the next i won't be able to or i would be talking to them and then bam disconnected .

I have tried to find a solution but to no avail .

Lads give a fellow gamer a hand please ? Frustrating me beyond belief

If you are wireless can you also state whether you are using the white or black external adapter or the Xbox 360S Internal adapter

That kind of message can happen when there is heavy latency on the network. Give the following a try:

- Unplug your modem/router for 10 minutes then plug them back in - Check party chat

- Check your modem/router manufacturer for firmware updates - Check party chat

- Connect your Xbox One by a different method. i.e. If you connect by wifi try connecting by Ethernet and vice-versa - Check party chat

- Check for line noise (if you are in the UK and have a land line you can do this yourself by dialing 17070 and selecting option 2 if you hear crackling/popping then you have line noise problems). If you don't meet those requirements you can phone your provider
and ask them to run a check on the line and if their is noise, have them clean it which involves them blasting white noise down the line or having to come out to adjust something your end.

Also, when you can talk to your friends for the day is anything different? Do you/they host the party chat where as when you get disconnected it is the other way around?

The WNDR3400 isn't on the Xbox certified list (it might not have been submitted for testing) but I like to keep a list of routers that do work that are not on that list, I can add it here then:-

Are you able to try the ethernet cable to your Xbox? That would help us determine where the problem is.

Hi Stomping! I can confirm that this is an ongoing issue for many CoD Ghosts players. In addition to the steps Faithless mentioned, I would also suggest a couple of additional things, which are troubleshooting steps publicized by developers on the CoD forums:

1. Make sure on your router that you have forwarded the network ports Xbox One uses for network communication.

2. Make sure your Xbox One is hardwired into your router to preserve the integrity of the connection.

3. If all of the above (including rebooting the router and hard-resetting the Xbox) still cause issues, there is another possibility. The video below is from a user who has this issue, and has found a temporary workaround which seems to work for an extended
period, or even causes the issue to go away completely until the next system reboot.
