Network problems with certain games

Both xbox ones in my house have issues playing halo mcc multiplayer and modern warfare 2 backwards compatible. With halo we only like to play halo 2 classic playlists so I cant speak for other playlists but considering how every single game, and I literally
mean every single match, we try to play has issues. Every match at some point will put us on the black screen that says connecting to game. Usually you can tell when it is about to happen because the gameplay becomes really laggy. I would say 1 out of 3 games
will kick us back to the main menu with a box that says lost network connection to the game and we will have a timed penalty for playing matchmaking again. MW2 will either lock up trying to find a game or one of us will be booted before the match starts and
every match is laggy. Sometimes it will kick us back to main menu and say you are not connected to xbox live even though if you check the actual xbox dashboard we are still connected. So needless to say those 2 games are unplayable. We have tried both wired
and wireless connections and there is no difference. Wired I'm getting around 150 mbps download. Also it says my nat is open. Weird thing is the only 2 other games we play on xbox, forza and battlefield 1, work just fine when we play online. Also we both have
a ps4 and we have never had a network issue with any game at all. This has been going since mw2 was released on backwards compatible and we decided to start playing xbox again. Any idea what is happening here?

clearing out the consoles caches since when they get full might cause this type of errors.

How to clear Game Cache on the Xbox One:

Clear Local Saved Games

Yes and Restart

To clear the Network Card Cache (alternate MAC address)

IF THE CONSOLE IS CONNECTED TO THE INTERNETno
progress or purchase data will be lost, what we accomplish by doing these steps would be to resync the profile to the cloud getting rid of any corruption as a byproduct.

I was having similar issues, same games. My router was a few years old, and had no real problems with it, and all settings were correct. Still, I decided to pick up a new one and see what happened. Problems went away.

Seems to be a common issue with Halo Master Chief Collection, plenty of posts on 343 indusries forums stating similar issues, could be latency issues with other players other than your own connection. Modern warfare 2 has also seen ongoing issues since before
September last year, i know its frustrating to own games that feel unplayable at times, il look out for further info or possible fixes.

If the problem persists, try these steps to troubleshoot the Xbox consoles:

Power cycle Network Hardware

Factory Reset - Keep Games & Apps - Both consoles

Please note: Before doing this troubleshooting step, make sure to know your email and passwords for your Xbox profiles.

Double check network configuration to ensure it did not change

Check Both Xbox NAT types - Open

Try this out and let us know the results.

Tried all of these. Still the same problems. Nat types are open on both consoles and all network settings are same. Reaching someone for MW2 backwards compatible seems almost impossible. Hoping to get a response from 343 for Halo MCC

Thanks for updating us on the issue. I understand there is an issue with playing multiplayer matches on Halo MCC and MW2. Thank you for checking the NAT type. One thing I do recommend is to double check your network configuration. Different game servers have
platform-specific TCP and UDP ports. Check out these articles for more information:

Do you receive an error message?

What type of connection are you using? (ethernet/wireless) If you are wireless, try using an ethernet connection for a direct stable connection.
