    xbox one x suddenly stopped recognizing my ethernet cable. Plugged into pc the cord is good. Wifi works good. But I need the hard wired connection to work.

    It matters... Everything I have connected via wired connection is gigabit ethernet. Connecting a fast ethernet device to the network slows down the entire network considerably. I don't understand why the slim model doesn't have Gibabit ethernet. It should.

    Connect by an Ethernet Cable, do Settings | System | Network | WIRED | Configure Network and record the settings there then go to Advanced Settings and record the settings there then go to the bottom and choose Restore Factory Defaults (Network) and confirm
    that, then power down, remove the Ethernet cable and power back up to reconnect wirelessly.
