network connectivity problem

hello everyone, today i woke up and turned my xbox on to play but it wasnt connected to the internet. I tested the network and it said 'additional authentication needed' and wouldnt connect. when i clicked 'authenticate now' it took me to a weird page
about the coronavirus and told me to download something. i tried to download it but i had to sign in, and i couldnt sign in without internet. i went back and clicked the other option which was 'enter alternate MAC address'. i tried to change the MAC address
but it didnt work. i rewrote the IP address but it still didnt work, so i used the command prompt in my laptop and typed ipconfig to find the MAC address and the IP address. i wrote it all in my xbox but nothing worked. please help.

turning off the security did not allow me to connect either, however after scanning again, it showed that the router didnt need a password nor did it ask me for a password.

Generally Wi-Fi is a big no no for any type of online gaming. Your Wi-Fi typically works on a 802.11 (GHz; a,ad,ac,b,h,g,J,n,p and y +ah MHz frequencies) depends on your router. ie the same as phones,tablets,Bluetooth devices, radio etc etc...Interference
is inevitable, Always where possible use (LAN), check out TP link powerline adapters or any powerline adapters, there not expensive, start around £25 abt $37/38. Well worth the investment. This should fix your problem permanently.

I did a full reset and managed to get back online, but after i switched my Xbox off it disconnected again.

same exact thing happened to me, no clue what to do now. starting to get pretty mad.

thx for the help, but if i reset my xbox will my account be deleted? how do i make sure that my progress is saved in the cloud? i have so many games and years of gameplay that i dont want to be deleted.
