    Network card broken???

So, I bought a new pc which is able to run games such as COD and RDR2. I have had this computer for about 2 weeks now and it was fine up until yesterday. I realised that whilst I was playing I would get huge lag spikes and my game would stutter and when it stopped lagging I would just be dead. I knew this was something to do with WI-FI/Network and so I checked task manager.(The games had been running fine with no lag when I got my new pc) See, before my network performance was receiving 50mbps and sending 30mbps which was fine however this time it was constantly changing from 0kbps-16kbps. So I was getting either no packets or I was getting 16kilobytes worth which is nothing. I have reset drivers, taken out the network card, done commands but nothing has helped. I was wondering if someone had any other ideas? Even though it says I was getting 0 kbps I could still talk on discord and watch youtube, It was almost as if it was only on games. In fact it says 0kbps right now XD! If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. (Oh and occasionally it will spike to 3.2 mbps for about 1 milisecond and then drop back)

    Network card broken???

log into your router and change the network channel, sometimes they don't always change automatically and the channel you are on could have interference or heavy traffic

    Network card broken???

I see, and reinstalling the card didn't work?

What about using a different wifi network? Not possible or the issue persists?

In any case, lets try something: (if one doesn't work proceed with the next)

    A. Open task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily

Restart your PC and give it a new try

    B. Try disabling IPv6 in your network adapter:

Open the Control Panel in Windows.

After opening the control panel, set the “View by” on the top-right corner to “Large icons“.

Click on the “Network and Sharing Center” option.

Here, click on the “Change adapter settings” link on the left panel.

Now, right-click on the active network adapter and select “Properties“.

    Go to the “Networking” tab.

Here, uncheck the “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” option.

Click on the “Ok” button to save changes.

Then close all the windows, restart your PC and try again

    C. Try using a different DNS address for your PC. Try both 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1

    https://www.windowscentral.com/how-change-your-....

    D. If you're using a VPN, DNS, Antivirus or similar service please disable each one temporarily and test

    E. Try uninstalling the most recent windows update, just in case it is the one that is causing conflicts (do it one by one, once you uninstall the latest. Check your network, if the issue persist. Repeat)

    F. Can be a bit odd, but create a new local administrator in your PC and try from there:

    G. Run the SFC tool to find and repair possible system corruptions

    H. Perform an in-place upgrade for your system in case the G. option doesn't work (don't worry, your content will remain)

    Network card broken???

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this Alex

That's really odd, in order to assist you properly please answer the following questions :

Are you on windows 10 or 11?
Do you know if your system or any hardware component received recently an update?
Or did you installed recently a new app/game that maybe can interfere?
If you try using a completely different wifi network the issue persists? Or if you have an ethernet port, try in that way.

Also, did you tried reinstalling the wifi driver using the latest version available on the manufacturer website?
Or what else did you do? In that way I can advise you different things or how to proceed

I did just uncheck the IPV6 and when I rebooted it was on 11mbps but then it dropped back to 60 kbps :(
