Network adaptor not working when "instant-on" power mode enabled upon boot.

Xbox wifi will not see any ssid nor connect to the wifi upon instant on boot. Will not work again until fully restarted. Problem goes away when I enable power save mode.

Anyone else have this issue or should I RMA?

Note: this is directly console related and has nothing to do with any of my network hardware, as xb1 does not see any said at all, not even neighbors.

Yep, also you can tell if it's on this mode by what colour the light on the power brick is when you turn off your console, if it remains white when the console is off then it's on instant power mode, if yellow then it's on energy saving mode.

Same problem. Streaming working perfectly but remote power-on is not.

Hi, if you clear the alternate MAC address does that help any ?

Settings/ all settings/ network/ advanced settings/ alternate Mac Address, select clear and then select restart.

 

No it does not, sorry for the late reply, I didn't get a notification! Have you heard of this issue at all?

 

It will show me the yellow connect to xbox live message on the main page, but if I go into the network settings, it'll show WIFI as being disabled, and it will not respond to disable wifi option, or enabling it again, nor will it respond to disconnect wifi
option either.

 

Weird, so the wireless works ok in power saving mode but not in instant on, have you considered a factory restore at all ?

ignore my last message, this is more detailed: I've tried static, changing the mac address, enabling WOL on my router with the XB1 mac address. This happens with the regular xbox app and the beta app. I'm having more of an issue further than this as well

settings, it'll show WIFI status as "getting info", and it will not respond to "Go offline" or "Disconnect wireless" options. When I go into "test network" it'll show a screen that there's an issue, and offers to restart wireless. This will fix the issue
and it will be connected to my SSID again after. The only other fix was to completely restart the console. Any ideas?

 

@eggsboxjuan I'm going to have to try the factory restore. I want to do whatever I can before having to ship it off to RMA...

 

For what it's worth, PS4 will wake from sleep no problem on the same wifi. It's funny. After getting wifi to work again on xb1, upon a power off in instant on mode, it wont wake from the windows 10 app, and wont be connected to wifi again.. ugh.

 

Hi, it won't wake from the Xbox app if it's not connected to the same network. I would certainly try a factory reset keeping your games and apps though, it only takes a few minutes.

 

Right, I know that too, everything is on the same network. My only option is the factory reset. Which I think I may have tried before but forgot, I've been kinda just coping with the issue, hoping for a firmware update to fix it. I'll report back after trying.

 

No luck with the restore. Going to have to send it in.
