    How to Find SSID (Network Name)

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    3. From the menu on the left under the Setup section choose Wireless Settings.
    4. The Network name will be listed as Name (SSID).


    How To Find Wireless Passphrase (WPA/WEP)

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    3. From the menu on the left under the Setup section choose Wireless Settings.
    4. The wireless passphrase can be found near the bottom of the page.


    Changing Wireless Security Type/ Disabling Wireless Security

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    3. From the menu on the left under the Setup section choose Wireless Settings.
    4. Under Security Options select Disable.
    5. Select Apply.


    MAC Filtering

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Open web browser.
    3. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    4. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    5. Under advanced select Wireless Settings.
    6. Select Setup Access List To access MAC Filtering.
    7. Uncheck Turn Access Control On
    8. Select Apply.


    Change Wireless Channel

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Open web browser.
    3. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    4. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    5. Select Wireless settings from the left hand menu under Setup.
    6. From the drop down menu labeled Channel select the desired channel. (Channels 1,3,9,11).
    7. Click Apply.


    Change Wireless Mode

    5. Select Wireless settings from the left hand menu under Setup.
    6. Select from the mode drop down "Up to 54Mbps".
    7. Click Apply.




    DHCP Reservation

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin"/password.
    3. Click LAN Setup on the left.
    4. At the bottom of the page you will find the "Address Reservation" section. Click on "Add" to bring up a new menu.
    5. In this menu, if the Xbox you want to add is already on the network, you can select it by clicking on the radio button next to the device. This will populate the fields with the information, alternatively you can enter the information manually then
      click "Add" to finished the process.


    UPnP

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    3. From the menu on the left under the advanced section choose UPnP.
    4. Toggle UPnP.


    DMZ

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    3. From the menu on the left under the advanced section select WAN Setup.
    4. Check the box next to Default DMZ Server.
    5. Enter the IP address assigned to the Xbox console you wish to DMZ.


    Disable DMZ

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    3. From the menu on the left under the advanced section select WAN Setup.
    4. Uncheck the box next to Default DMZ Server.
    5. Select apply.


    Port Forwarding

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    3. From the menu on the left select Port Forwarding/Port Triggering.
    4. Select the Port Forwarding button at the top of the main screen.
    5. Click the Add Custom Service button at the bottom.
    6. In the following Screen enter a service name that indicates something to do with Xbox Live (XBL). Set the service type to both TCP and UDP. Set both the starting port and ending port to 3074. Then enter the IP address that the Xbox console you wish
      to port forward has.
    7. Click Apply.


    Disable Port Forwarding

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    3. From the menu on the left select Port Forwarding/Port Triggering.
    4. Select the Port Forwarding button at the top of the main screen.
    5. Select the radio button for any rules needed to be removed.
    6. Select Delete Service.
    7. Select apply.


    Firewall

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    3. From the menu on the left select WAN Setup.
    4. Check the Disable SPI Firewall box.
    5. Change NAT Filtering from secured to Open.


    How to Find Firmware Version

    5. The netgear smart wizard will automatically search for updates upon login, if an update is available click install.
    Manual Update

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Open web browser.
    3. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    4. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    5. Select Advanced from the tabs at the top.
    6. Select Administration from the menu on the left.
    7. Select Router Update from the submenu.
    8. In an alternate web browser or tab go to www.NETGEAR.com and download the updated software. If not done automatically uncompress the file.
    9. Click Browse.
    10. Locate and select the file you just downloaded and uncompressed.
    11. Click Upload to send the software to the router. This loads the new software in the router and causes the router to restart. Note: Do not try to go online, turn off the router, shutdown the computer or do anything else to the router until the router
      finishes restarting! When the Ready light stops blinking, wait a few more seconds before doing anything.
    12. Click Router Status and check the Firmware Version to verify that your router now has the new software installed


    Restore Factory Defaults

    Through firmware

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    3. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    4. From the left hand menu select Backup Settings.
    5. Select the Erase option under where it says Revert to factory default settings.
    Through Hardware

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Locate the reset button on the device.
    3. With paperclip/pen/toothpick hold down the reset button down for 30 seconds.
    4. Wait for lights to turn off then return to normal.




    Entering PPPoE

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    3. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. the default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    4. From the left hand menu select Basic Settings.
    5. Where it says Does your internet connection require a login select yes.
    6. Enter the user name and password for your pppoe in their respective fields.
    7. Select apply.




    Known Issues

    There are no known issues with this device.

    Multiple Console Support

    We have confirmed that this network device is unable to support more than one console with an Open NAT.

    Change Wireless Band (Width)



    The possibility of using 20MHz or 40MHz on this device is based on the current mode selected. If the devices' mode is set to "Up to 300Mbps" the channel width will likely switch between 20MHz and 40MHz depending on surrounding interference. To set
    the wireless band to 20MHz only, follow these steps.



    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Open web browser.
    3. Login to router by entering Router login in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    4. The router will then prompt you to enter the username and password. The default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    5. Select Basic from the tabs at the top.
    6. Select Wireless from the left hand menu.
    7. Select from the mode drop down "Up to 217Mbps" or lower.
    8. Select Apply.


    DHCP Reservation

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the username and password.

      The default user name and password are: "admin"/password.
    3. Select Advanced from the tabs at the top.
    4. Click Setup from the menu on the left.
    5. Click Lan Setup in the submenu that appears.
    6. At the bottom of the page you will find the "Address Reservation" section. Click on "Add" to bring up a new menu.
    7. In this menu, if the Xbox you want to add is already on the network, you can select it by clicking on the radio button next to the device. This will populate the fields with the information, alternatively you can enter the information manually then
      click "Add" to finish the process.
    UPnP

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the username and password.

      The default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    3. Select the Advanced tab from the tabs at the top.
    4. Select Advanced setup from the menu on the left.
    5. From the submenu choose UPnP.
    6. Toggle UPnP.


    DMZ

    1. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    2. The router will then prompt you to enter the username and password.

      The default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    3. Select Advanced from the tabs at the top.
    4. Select Setup.
    5. Select WAN Setup from the submenu.
    6. Check the box next to Default DMZ Server if it is not.
    7. Enter the IP address assigned to the Xbox console you wish to DMZ
    8. Select Apply.
