    Hi Mister Beep.

    So I have now contacted Netflix. They told me that Netflix do not support Voice Control, and any voice control that is used within the app is provided by XBox, and that I need to talk to XBox Support if I cannot get it to work.

    Therefore the question is back to you guys - please help me with this. This is driving me crazy that everyone I talk to tells me they can use voice support to navigate menus, while I have no option to do this.

    Sorry to hear ExploitedZebra!

    I have set the region on one of our test consoles to the language 'Norsk' and the location 'Norge' and have found that the app release is 02.09.2014. It's also worth mentioning that the US version of the app also shows 11/22/2013, which simply states when
    the app was released.

    As I mentioned earlier in the thread, in order to have the best experience on your console, you need to have the console region match your physical region. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Press the Menu button on your Xbox One controller and select 'Settings'.
    • In the Settings menu, select 'System'
    • Select 'Language & location' and fill out the information for your region.
    • Select 'Restart Now'.
    Try the steps above and post back the results!

    Hi ZEBRA,

    Netflix voice commands are NOT highlighted in green, unlike the rest of the xbox apps, which is obviously confusing.

    Here is a list of the Netflix voice commands:

    Firstly, make the kinect go into listening mode by saying "xbox select"

    While xbox is listening you can say:

    (on profile select screen) "Profile one", Profile two" (etc....)

    (when scrolling through lists on the Netflix home screen) "Show more" , "Show previous" , "Next list" , "Previous list"

    (select a film/show to watch) "Select 1" , "Select 2" , "Select 3" (etc...) or "Play 1", "Play 2" (etc...)

    (when on film select screen) "Play", "Play from beginning", "Add to my List" or "Remove from my list"

    (Whilst watcing a show/film) "Xbox play", "xbox pause", "xbox fast forward", "xbox rewind", "xbox stop" (no need to say xbox select first with those commands)

    (During a show or on select screen) "Back to browse" (takes to the Netflix home screen)

    (Other commands when at the netflix home screen) "Exit Netflix", "switch profiles"

    Remember to say "xbox select" to put Kinect into listening mode before using these commands.

    Thanks everyone.

    Mr Beep - this just gets strange then, as I do not have "Norge" / "Norsk" as options in my region and language settings, hence why I set myself up as UK. I have already tried experimenting with the UK and US settings which made no difference. Please can
    you arrange to do a diagnostics or something on my machine, as it feels like I have another product from everyone else here.

    E Mc Sq - thanks for the input Netflix Voice Support - How to Use :) others have also told me their commands show up as white and not green, but when I say "XBox Select", nothing happens other than the xbox select symbol appearing with no options for command of anything. I have tried several
    of those commands and nothing happens and I usually sit in my living room feeling like an idiot. Voice Support in Skype, TED and Media Player all work fine and I am sure I am savvy enough to figure out if this was a simple problem. Unfortunately, for me, the
    voice support simply isn't there. The only thing that does work is "Xbox Play" and "Xbox Pause" etc., while actually viewing a video.

    This seems very odd and I find it even stranger that I can't get a straight answer / fix to this issue?

    I agree that this is an odd issue! I really want to get down to the bottom of this. When attempting to change the location settings, you need to change language first before regions first. Does 'Norsk' not show up in the language list between 'Nederlands'
    and 'Polski' for you?

    If you are continuing to not be able to see those settings, could you post back your console OS version number? To find that, follow these steps:

    • Press the Menu button on your Xbox One controller and select 'Settings'.
    • In the Settings menu, select 'System'.
    • Select 'Console info'.
    • Post back with the full version number under 'OS version'.
    If you are still unable to find 'Norsk', post back with that OS version number. Thank you so much for your patience, ExploitedZebra!

    3. My Norwegian is very basic - why on earth can you not choose any language for any location?? It's not as though if you live in 1 country you can therefore only speak 1 language.

    This is now going on long enough and I would like a straightforward answer. MS created this system so must be aware of how it works?

    You are correct that Norwegian is not a supported language, but in order to get the best Xbox Live experience, we recommend setting your Xbox One console and Xbox Live account region to the region you are physically located in.

  9. OK, so what you are saying is this - in order to have the "best" Xbox One Live experience, you need to set your console language to one you barely understand, and one which completely removes all voice functionality from your system completely. Does that
    honestly sound like a reasonable answer to the problem?

    Secondly: you still haven't actually addressed my issue and told me "why" I am having this problem. Is the answer that because I am located in Norway running Netflix that it does not support my voice control? Are you going to even look further into this?

    The reason you're experiencing this issue is because voice control is not supported in Norway at this time.

  11. So - 3 weeks and 6 official responses to tell me that what I am trying to achieve is not achievable. And I had to ask if the correct answer was actually the correct answer in order for MS to verify that, yes, that is the correct answer.

    A factory reset may not end up resolving this issue, and we suggest having all of the internet settings and console region set to your locale for the best experience.

    What region are you physically located in? That may factor into it as the voice commands would be programmed on Netflix's end.

    If you uninstall the App, it would still keep the app's tile in the 'Ready to install' section as more of a reminder that you own the app.

    As far as pictures on our forums go, normally URL links from 'OneDrive' or any other picture hosting site will do.

    Post back with what region you are physically located in so we can get to bottom of this! :)

    Hey there ExploitedZebra!

    Sorry to hear about the voice command issue!

    When you navigate to the app by saying "Xbox, go to Netflix", you should see commands such as "Profile 1" or "Select 1,2,3,4, etc" for each Movie or Show tile within the app. You should also see a menu pop up at the bottom with a small list of commands such
    as "Show more", "Next List", "Exit Netflix". When doing this, the boxes just highlight white, not green and white.

    With the Netflix app open, try to get these options to pop up by saying "Xbox, go to Netflix" rather than "Xbox", and let me know if you see the same thing I mentioned. If you see something different, please post back pictures to help us better understand
    the issue. Thanks! :)
