Discus and support NetFlix - Using Voice Support in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Might be something to do with it, my mate lives in France and cant get Amazon Prime or Netflix to work there as there is some region restriction, but...     Might be something to do with it, my mate lives in France and cant get Amazon Prime or Netflix to work there as there is some region restriction, but as you can actually use Netflix I cant see it being that. Weird in the extreme.

  2. OK so I have now uninstalled Netflix again. There are 2 things I am noticing here:

    1. When you try to re-install from the store, it simply uses the original install file you have already downloaded before, and does not download again. Is there a way to completely delete the install file so that the XBox is forced to start again?

    2. I can see in the Netflix app in the store, that it says "Release Date 22/11/13". This seems to be before they even added voice support so is it possible I am only getting the option to download a very old version of Netflix, and if so, any idea why?

    I guess the only way would be to do a full factory reset on the console, which seems a bit drastic but I cant think of another way to force a newer version of the app.

    Agree with Genchy, drastic but would probably work. Make sure to do a back up on a flash drive or external hdd.

  5. I just checked for Crackle, and there was 0 results. Changed my region to US and managed to download Crackle straight away, so it seems there are different apps available to different regions. I checked again for Netflix, which still says the same release
    date so I am sure that is "locked" into the install file I already have. I was originally set to UK (as there is no opton for Norway) but I can't imagine Netflix would give to voice support to US and not UK?

    1. Is there a way to "check for updates" on a single app?

    2. What region are you guys set to?

  6. 3. If I do a factory reset then what will happen to all of my save games? Stupid question probably, but how can I back this info up? I have about 20 hours invested in Dragon Age so definitely don't want to lose that!

    If you have an external HDD you will be able to transfer your DA save to that. Plus I think game save go to the cloud (not positive on that though). I would contact support by phone and have them walk you through the process to be on the safe side.

    Dont worry bout your game saves they are all cloud based so you wont lose anything. Only hassle is the reinstall/download of all games. Im UK region on the console.

  9. OK thanks guys. MS said they don't think a reset will help, but I might consider one day when I'm not playing and have the time!

    One last question - can any of you open the Store, and go to the Netflix app, and tell me what "Release Date" you see for the app?

  11. I don't recall who mentioned it (it was at the beginning of this thread), but you don't need MS to make you a QWERTY keyboard - the console supports most USB keyboards already, so just go buy a cheap $15 one that works for you; I did and I have not regretted
    it since. NetFlix - Using Voice Support ;)

    Choices are white to move between titles on mine......and the only time I use the "xbox select" command is to choose the profile I want to load after that it's just "next list" " select 1" "play". etc

  15. This is driving me crazy. I've now spoken made a support thread to XBox, who tell me I need to talk to Neflix.

    Netflix tell me they do not support voice support, and any voice functions are provided by Xbox themselves so I need to talk to XBox.

    Why on earth am I getting a totally different experience to everyone else?

    OK in that case something is not right - If I say those commands above nothing happens. If I say XBox Select then only the Xbox Select symbol in the top-right appears, there are no additional pop ups of text within Netflix itself (as what happens with Skype
    for example, where lots of options appear on screen).

    So the question remains - why on earth do I have a different version of the Netflix app than everyone else? I just uninstalled and re-installed this morning and nothing changed.

    Yeah, when I say Xbox select in Netflix, I get a black bar at the bottom with "next list/show more" and whatnot in white text, and the videos on the screen have little black bars that have "select 1/2/3/4/5" in green text. The app should automatically update,
    but I remember using voice commands a long time ago, so it's not a new feature, maybe try deleting and reinstalling, do you have other media apps you can test when, maybe it's a problem with the Xbox and not the app.

    Thanks guys - This is very strange though - this is only on XBox One I am using, and none of this works. I know my way around the XBox so am sure I'm not doing anything stupid, it just isn't there in my version of the app.

    I am wondering if there is some reason for this - outdated app, not part of the Update Program or something?

    When you guys say "Xbox Select" in the main Netflix navigation page, do you get any commands appearing on screen (either in green or white), as I see nothing? I have posted this on the support page but they seem very slow to respond so hoping someone here
    might have a quicker answer! :)
