    NetFlix Update Issues


    The last NetFlix Update has some issues with Auto Play. 1) When advancing to the next Episode in a Series, the app locks up the system. After turning OFF Auto Play, 2) If you advance to the next Episode or Movie before ALL credits have played, the app locks
    up the system.

    The only way around the lock up is to 1) hit the DVD eject button, go back to XBox Home page and restart NetFlix or 2) Restart the system.

    Uninstalling, deleting Netflix and clearing the Cache does NOT solve the problem.

    I contacted NetFlix and they gave me the Microsoft Help Line Number saying that Microsoft is responsible for releasing Apps. This is a bogus statement since the App clearly belongs to Netflix.

    Does Microsoft have a "fix" for this issue or do they have a new Netflix update to fix the problem that has not been released?

    This is really irritating for those of us that "binge" watch episodes using auto play. It is also irritating to have to sit through every credit at the end of a show or movie.

    Anyone else having issues with Netflix? After another update last night, my Netflix has been jittering and getting a green screen.

    Also, I like how we get notifications when games are updated now.

    Watching the Flash on Netflix right now, not having any issues.

    Can't freaking broadcast through twitch though, something is going on with settings. Going to try to fix it tomorrow.

    Hey, TwangySkydiver0! You are correct in that Netflix owns this app. Anything that happens within the app is their responsibility to resolve, especially if our basic app troubleshooting doesn't fix it (like you have already done). As far as I am aware, there
    are no app updates that are coming out for Netflix, but we only made aware of them once they are released here on Support.

    I suggest reaching out to them again to see if they will work with you. However, if they don't, please post back here so we can see what we can do to further assist you. Thanks for understanding! NetFlix Update Issues :)

    I contacted NetFlix again. Absolutely no help. I suggested reverting back to the previous version until they resolved the issue. But of course, The English as a second language "Robot" could not resolve anything other than "these things take time".

  7. Alright, TwangySkydiver0. I dug a bit into this.

    For my account, I tried advancing to the next episode with AutoPlay on. It worked. After that, I turned off AutoPlay on Netflix's website (because I couldn't find an option on the console), and went to progress to the next episode. This also worked as expected.

    Aside from uninstalling and reinstalling, and clearing cache, have you done any other troubleshooting? I have a few more steps we can try to see if it helps, however I don't want to ask you to do steps you've already completed. NetFlix Update Issues :)

    I have 3 360 consoles, all have the same issue. I have looked online for any possible "fixes". There are other 360 users experiencing the same problem. Netflix has admitted that it is an update issue but the "Help Line" doesn't know anything about future
    updates.

    If you have some other things to try, please list them.

    I did this on an Xbox One because I am so used to that being the issue, and I apologize for my mistake. I feel incredibly embarrassed.

    Let me test it out all again on an Xbox 360 and I will get back to you. Again, my sincerest apologies. -_-

  10. Okay. After testing on the Xbox 360, I am still unable to see the same thing you are seeing. All testing for the scenarios you called out above succeeded in playing the next episode of a show without freezing up the app or console.

    However, on the two consoles I tested it on here, Netflix required an update. Have you had any updates recently to your Netflix?

    The update took place on 8/12/2016. I also have an Xbox One and it does not have this problem. I went back today uninstalled ALL references to Netflix and deleted the System Cache, shut the unit down and rebooted and re-installed Netflix and no change. Auto
    Play is turned off in my profile. When an episode reaches the end, there is a window in the upper left corner that plays the credits. In the main window, the next episode is displayed.

    If I click to advance to the next episode the system locks up at 1% loading the next episode at which time I can eject the dvd tray which kicks me out of Netflix then I can sign in again and go to the next episode or I can wait for all credits to finish
    and then click the next episode displayed in the main window or I can click back then select episodes and then select the next episode. If Auto Play is left on, the system locks up at 1% on the next episode. Both units I am working with were updated on the
    same date on 8/12/2016. I have not gone back to the 3rd unit again. If i can't get it on two units, most likely it won't work on the 3rd unit. LOL...

    By the way, thank you for all that you are doing.

    I really think this is going to take a new update from Netflix to resolve this especially since it is a known issue to them.

  12. That is what it will take to resolve this, however I wanted to get it up to teams on our side to help speed this up. You are, so far, the only person that has reported this to us directly (on Xbox Community Support which helps users here on the forums, Twitter,
    and Reddit). More users will help us show that this is an issue.

    If you personally know others that are running into this (or are communicating with others that are in another forum), I encourage you to have them post in here. It will help us out getting this to the right teams to communicate with Netflix.

    On the troubleshooting side of things, I only tested one show consistently. Does this happen with all shows you have attempted to move forward, or only on specific shows? If it's specific shows, I want to know which ones those are for both any investigating
    we do on our side and for my attempts at trying to get this to "work" on my side.

    My Xbox was working fine up until a required Netflix update two days ago. Ever since then, every time an episode ends and auto switches to the next one the entire xbox freezes on the loading screen of the episode. None of the buttons will do anyting on the
    controller, and I have to keep turning the console on and off to be able to keep watching Netflix. Anyone had this problem/know a fix? I've tried deleting all netflix files and uninstalling the app completely and reinstalling and it did nothing.

  15. Hi there, I've also been having the same issue with my 360 for the past month or two (cannot recall when the update was installed). At the same time this started happening, if I click on a show and the menu opens up (play epsiode, rate, and that good stuff),
    Netflix will automatically start playing the show after two seconds and the menu on the left just fades away.

    I've tried all the fixes I've found online, including those you've listed. Sometimes it happens after just watching one episode, sometimes it will load the second episode, then will freeze at 0% on the third. Trying to reset the console with the controller
    does nothing; you physically have to get up and press the power button and wait 10 seconds for it to turn off.

    It doesn't matter which show I'm watching: x files, furturama, Bob's burgers, shameless, the list goes on. I also don't have this issue on any other consoles or my smart tv, just the 360.
