Netflix subtitles - no option to turn off closed captioning

hey all

On some (not all) movies I don't have an option to switch off Spanish subtitles if I'm listening to English audio. As someone who doesn't speak Spanish this is pretty useless to me and a bit distracting from the movie. I suppose I could try and use this
opportunity to learn Spanish but I really would like the option to turn it off and I can't find any forum threads about his specific problem.

So, I'm using Netflix app on xbox one. If i bring up the video controls and select Audio & Subtitles I see the option to listen to the movie in English or Spanish. These are the only two options so I naturally select English. But there is only one option
for subtitles which is Spanish. There's not even an Off option. (FYI if I switch the audio to Spanish I get the option for English, Spanish and Off.)

I have had this issue with the Matrix and Lord of the Rings. Interestingly, I have also seen other glitches. When I watched the movie Up! The audio was in English and there were no subtitles by default but any time there was writing on screeen (such as the
cover of a book) it was in Spanish.

My region setting is set to US and the language is English both on my xbox and on my xbox account.

fix your subtitles.. system and netflix..

so recently or with updates i have seen subtitles get turned on on allot of systems..

for general subtitles go to my apps, settings, bottom has a thing with CC in it.. click on that and it allows you to turn off subtitles or close captioning in the system...

on netflix its a little different..

you have to be int he app start playing the video/tv show hit the a button and bring up the part that allows you to pause play fastforward... at the very end it looks like a small magazine click on that and it allowsyou to turn off close cationing in the netflix app..

 

should i watch forward unto dawn?

sucks that there is no closed captioning/ subtitles
