    Netflix STILL doesn't handle HDR properly. Details inside, spoke w/ Netflix support.


    Long-running issue with the Netflix app on xbox making it pretty unusable if you're using HDR. Basically if you have HDR enabled on the xbox, the entirety of the Netflix library plays with HDR on even if the content doesn't support it. This creates a gray, dull and washed-out image quality.

    I spoke with Netflix support a few months back about this and troubleshot for an hour or so only for them to eventually send me to a software team member. This person then told me the Netflix app is designed to output at whatever the Xbox is set to. I've tried numerous times to complain/fix this with them - they don't care at all.

    Maybe someone at MS could poke them? Would love to not have to disable HDR every time I use Netflix.

    No other issues with video apps.

    Having the same issue, Epson 5040ub w/ Xbox One S, HDR isn't working on anything (UHD, Netflix, games) despite receiver and all cables being HDMI 2.0a / 4K HDR supported spec.

    I have exactly the same problem with my Vizio P55-C1. This might be a Vizio problem -- I know my TV also doesn't support the way the XB1 Netflix app handles HDR.

    4K resolution is nice, but I bought these disks mostly because of HDR. Watching them stutter is seriously disappointing.

    Hi.

    When you start Netflix, does it start up in HDR or Dolby Vision as it seems the app itself launches in that mode. Not all content is Dolby Vision compatible in Netflix.

    Your TV is on the list of supported models, and I assume you are in the Insider program for testing this feature?

    Also, check for any updates to the Netflix app.

    Does your TV and console support HDR? If it does, try to disable when you going watch netflix. Apparently netflix already has HDR.

    Xbox One S HDR Bug

    Add me to the list. I have a Vizio M55-D0, firing up Netflix causes washed out colors and is system wide until Netflix is exited out of. Even when playing an HDR title (Marco Polo) HDR isn't turning on and the colors are still washed out. Using SmartCast
    HDR works just fine with Netflix.
