Discus and support Netflix shuts down my console. in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Ever since the update Netflix plays for roughly 5 seconds and then freezes, it then proceeds to shut down my console.     Ever since the update Netflix plays for roughly 5 seconds and then freezes, it then proceeds to shut down my console. Anyone else having this problem? or know how to fix it?

    Netflix shuts down my console.

    Sorry to hear it. Please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds then unplug everything from it and let it sit for 5 minutes. If that doesn't solve the issue you should set up a repair for the console.

  5. Been having the same issue for about a month now. Sometimes its 2 min in...sometimes I can do 3-4 episodes on a show. It doesn't seem to be effecting anything else. My blu rays play fine, YouTube doesn't have issues, games play fine, my downloaded videos
    are good. Only Netflix. I've hard reset my system multiple times to no solution. I've even talked to Microsoft and they can't answer it now. Also contacted Netflix and they referred me to Microsoft. Its maddening really. Anyone else having this issue?!

    Sorry to hear about the Netflix issue. To add on to the steps that Onyx has provided above, I also recommend uninstalling and reinstalling
    the Netflix app. Once you have have reinstalled the app, try power cycling your console again to see if the issue continues to occur.

    Hey KNEELB4ZOD1979!

    Sorry to hear that the issue is continuing to occur. Does this issue only happen with the Netflix app? If you haven't already, I recommend trying to reset your networking hardware as well.

    • Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
    • Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
    • Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem or gateway for five minutes.
    • After you have waited five minutes, plug in your router, modem or gateway and console.
    • Power on your console and load the Netflix app to see if the issue continues.
    Try the steps above and let us know how it goes!

    I'm having the same problems for the last week or so. I have tried everything but to no avail. Neither Microsoft nor Netflix could suggest something that fixed the problem, though we tried many things. Power cycling as mentioned above didn't help, nor did
    reinstalling Netflix. Also tried running the offline system diagnostic tool. Netflix suggests changing the hdmi cables, but that didn't help either.

    I contacted Microsoft and they've promised to replace the consoleif I cannot find a way to get Netflix working again. Seems to be the only option, but who knows how long until the new one has the same problem.

    I have been having this same problem for about a month or so. my xbox shuts off everytime i try to watch netflix. I have been on the phone with customer service multiple times with both netflix and microsoft. Each call has lasted over an hour each. Tried
    all the " hold power button" "unplug box from wall" "set preferences to not automatically turn off" etc. None of it works. Microsoft blamed netflix and netflix blames microsoft. It is getting a bit ridiculous I just want to watch netflix but i cant, talk about
    terrible customer service they act like I am the only person having this problem but posts like these are literally everywhere. frustrating

    Why do these threads go quiet after people describe their problems? does that mean they found a solution? please let us know if the problem went away. I just experienced the same issue yesterday and could not fix it.

  15. So for me I went into the settings and turned my console from always on to power saving mode as it was causing problems with my cable box as well. Then I power cycled and I haven't had problems with it since.
