^ I agree with @chemist. I'm finding plenty to watch on our version of netflix but I would be silly to say it's awesome and I'm happy with the selection as a whole. More people in Aus and NZ must continue to push the issue to get the full library the U.S
gets otherwise the piracy will continue for most of us.

Just saw the add for GOT season 5 on Foxtel exclusively meaning that I can't buy it on iTunes again until months later meaning I will end up saving my cash and having a friend give me a pirated copy.

  2. Oh well, I am happy, haha.

I will also never go the pirated route just because I can't watch it at the same time as the US, that's no way to justify it in my opinion.

I don't download myself but if a friend comes by it before I can buy it I take it.

Problem is digi assassin, if you're long time IT worker (ie, server, always online, ahoy matie pirate) or have been watching netflix for years, what we have to offer is so far behind that it's not worth it, 700,000 Australians would agree. However, I'd be
happy to see Aus Netflix take down Foxtel, that service is rubbish. And,, I only have Hulu + for 2 shows, never watched much else on it.

Its the closest thing to a real TV app that has been released ever on xbox for New Zealand anyways. If I were Australian and in some ways I wish I was born in Australia I might have higher expectations.

  6. What I forgot to mention is that I have faith Netflix will bring it in line with the US version, I've read things where they want to secure 'global' rights for content, so instead of doing it on a per country basis, they could secure the rights to whatever
for the whole of their service. I don't think there is an issue to push because Netflix aren't stupid, they want to succeed and have been. It's pretty clear if the service lacks content in a years time, only an idiot would stay signed on.

Also because a large majority have theatrically been doing the wrong thing, why should I find the service sub par? I haven't been using Netflix for years or illegally downloading, so this service is the *** to someone like me, though I do get your point.

One last thing, I did some calculations and I usually spend 40 - 50 dollars on one season of a TV series, so Netflix being $124 a year I only need to watch approximately 3 seasons of a TV series and I'm already saving money. House of Cards, Lost and mad
    men, here I come!

Netflix is cool the NZ content is pretty good. I keep watching A 2nd Chance, also watch H20 Just Add Water and some other stuff. I say this thread is meant for New Zealand and Australians since it came out for us last week and Americans are so use to it
but others can contribute. I don't hear many NZ'rs moaning about lack of content, well Netflix is like the first ever closest app to a TV app which has ever been released on Xbox 360 and Xbox 1.

I told a few of my friends about it too even some American friends and they said cool and awesome.

I remember when Xbox 1 first Launched. It was sub par. It left out over half the Features Xbox 360 had. And Microsoft locked out Voice Commands for NZ locale. I had to change it to Australia Locale to unlock it. A few months ago, they changed it and added
English Australia English US and stuff so I select English Australia and Locale New Zealand and can use it. If I select none in language and have it on NZ locale, voice commands is locked. Netflix isn't the only one to restrict content. Microsoft for sure
does it too. There are many other Xbox apps which are barred from Australia and New Zealand. It's actually really easy for New Zealanders to live and school and work in Australia due to both governments having a good rapport. I'd say Netflix is awesome. It
still has a list of movies and programs which you just can't get on Blu-ray or DVD or digitally here unless you go to some notorious sites. I'm sure Netflix is going to get better. It just got released here last week so we shouldn't expect to see a bajillion
movies and programs and everything that has ever being on TV and movies around the world, at this stage.

I also like how Netflix has great servers. I live in a house which has only ADSL Broadband speeds and been using the app since it came out. There has been ZERO buffering, ok when you start watching each movie/program there is like a 0,3,15,30,90% for 3 seconds
and then no buffering even after 1 hour HD solid play. Now if I try Youtube, I do get occasional buffering which is like worse than what Netflix does.

  10. Kia ora smileskybird, I've said it before, it's our part of the world. The only other Neighbour is PNG and in complete honesty, I loved visiting there last November.

  11. In fact, it was a kiwi girly who was kind of chasing me around Aman Jordan who used to say to me, it's our part of the world, now I think about it, that sounds creepy, I mean Australia and New Zealand as countries, not some weird personal thing. On another
note, MS forums are unimaginably terrible for editing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

My household only has ADSL which averages 10.9 down and 0.9 up. I watched Narnia this morning something like a 2 hour video, you would expect with my speeds and watching it in Dolby HD there would be buffering every 5 minutes, but throughout the 2 hour video
there was NO buffering. Now if I tried to watch a 2 hour video on Youtube there would be buffering here and there. Been also watching episodes of Lightning Point and Stargate Atlantis, all of which had NO buffering while watching them. So far I'm liking it.

I also like to add when I watch Xbox Videos from Dashboard ads on Xbox 360 and Xbox 1, the buffering is very terrible, much worse than Youtube. Netflix has awesome servers. It's great Netflix and Microsoft brought this to New Zealand (and Australia) last
month. We're changing internet providers in about 2 weeks to ultra fibre cable and unlimited monthly data (Vodafone NZ), currently on Spark ADSL 80GB/month.
