Netflix on Xbox one makes my TV think the program is in 3d

So this just started about a week ago. My wife watches Netflix almost every night. Worked fine one night then this started the next. The TV is an LG 47" 3D TV from 2012.

The only app with this problem is Netflix. I can open the app, browse three menu, etc just fine. When I play a show I get a black screen and the 3D pop-up on my TV. Closing it leaves me with a black screen but with sound.

I worked with Netflix support. They had me change HDMI cables, change ports on the TV, hard reset the Xbox and check for Netflix updates. Nothing worked.

I tried opening one kids show and it played just fine. I tried 4 others and they all did it. Netflix suggest I reach out here suggesting it might be an Xbox problem. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm sorry to hear that. Try to do a soft factory reset without removing any games and apps.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Settings > System > Console info > reset then keep my games and apps.

NOTE: This will delete the profiles on your account, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.

Well even if it is up to Netflix to add this, Microsoft should be pushing Netflix to do this ASAP. It's making the all-in-one concept look bad.

With no SuperHD for netflix, and no 3d Bluray support, my xbox all-in-one is turning into needing 2-3 devices, just like before.

I have to use my Apple TV for better Netflix, and too bad I sold my PS3 for 3d bluray playback, now I have to buy a stand alone bluray player. Silly me making an assumption that it could at least do that.

So much for it being an all in one. I'm all for patience, but when it is the centerpiece of a living room TV, the rest of the less-tech savvy household has less patience and want things to just work.

I don't think any of us are saying that Netflix looks bad on the One but those of us who have multiple platforms know it can look better.

Netflix is supposedly offering 3D programming in some areas that rolled out same time Super HD did, anyone have it and know if that's missing on the One too?

I have a smart LG. Smart features I use are Mirracast (For beaming my Kindle screen to the TV) and the Netflix and Amazon Instant apps. Since Xbox One already has those two apps, I'd say that they are somewhat wasted. Smart 3D TV is another matter, but if
you go Xbox One a regular full HD TV will do nicely.

I haven't got one in over a year. Best buy advertised guardians of the galaxy 2 in 3d but when I went to the store they said they neve had it. The last one I bought in a retail store I think was the original guardians of the galaxy. I have a passive 3d
tv, my brother has one of those flicker 3d tvs and he never uses his because of the batteries and cost of glasses. Which is the same for dad and home not using his. I think in a way that kinda killed 3d here. With my passive 3d tv I can get glasses for $2.
Even the ones from the movie theater work with it. I think if they would of gone more with the passive 3d I think more people would of invested in it.
