Netflix on Xbox One Laggy and Un-Usable

So, my Netflix on my Xbox One has been acting up... Again. And this time it has brought me to the forums. It seems there is no fix, it wants to work when it wants to and stops working at the worst of times.

How I get the problem:

•Load up Netlfix as I would any time. Usually after being used, never closed, and Xbox turned off and on again with Quick Start feature On so it never really closes.

What Happens:

•Xbox begins lagging, around 1-2 frames per second. The app begins to load seemingly normally, but the loading circle is spinning as slow as possible.

•All the Xbox lags. Very bad response tlines, sometimes none, and the Kinect mainly does all my work for me as the controller buttons just don't respond.

How I Glet My Xbox Functioning Again:

•Hold or Press the home button, and turn off the console or slowly make my way to the menu and quit the app. At this point the Xbox does not lag anymore, yet Netflix is now closed, and opening Netflix again causes the same problem.

What I Have Tried:

•Console Restart

•Unplug the Console, Wait 30 Seconds.

•Restart and Troubleshoot Wi-Fi connection. (Should be no problems)

•Re-installed the app. (Many Times)

•Signed into another account on Xbox.

•Signed out of Netlix.

•Called Netflix and Xbox.

What I'm Not Going to do:

•Factory Reset

•New Console

•Anything Costing Money or Loss of Games or Apps other than Netflix on the Console.

If anyone can figure out the problem, or if anyone else is having the same problem, please do say something. Anything helps. Just take into consideration what I have done, and what I'm not going to do. Thank you very much.

You might have to factory reset. You can save it all to an external had drive so you don't have to redownload.

Does this happen with other streaming apps?

 

It doesn't happen with other apps... And that's why I'm confused because it usually fixes itself after some time but I am just tired of waiting for it.

 

Heeeey. Good news!

There is a new feature on your Xbox One. You can now do a factory reset BUT
only wipe the system partition.

That's right, if you go to Settings -> All Settings -> System -> Console Info -> Reset

You will now have 2 options (besides cancel)

1. Reset and remove everything

2. Reset and keep my games and apps

When you choose the second option, your system will wipe the system partition and reinstall it. When it boots back up, you'll be asked the normal things, what's your time zone, what's your favorite color, what's your name and password. But then you get
in, and your profile and games and apps are still there.

This can fix a TON of lag issues, because it can clear up all kinds of nasty partial files and overflowing cache files. Personally, I think I'm going to make it part of my semi-annual upkeep.

In your case, I would recommend uninstalling netflix, do a reset keeping your games and apps, get back in and reinstall it. Once you do that, I bet you'll be just gravy. But let me know.
