Netflix in HD

Has anyone else notice since the change in ms policy that you dont need gold to watch netflix that now it does not stream in HD. My 13 year old computer which is more outdated than xbox 360 can stream it.

Wha? .....no Super HD mode? Seriously?

No content on Netflix shows up as Super HD (and my ISP, Virgin, supports Netflix's Content Servers for Super HD).

Not impressed.

using HD? netflix wants hd settings for your xbox i had CRAZY problems with netflix till i switched to a newer tv, than still had some problems till i switched to hd 1080i. Even if your tv is hd you need to change xbox settings to hd as well as long as
you have hd cables.

 

When I was using Netflix a while ago it played in HD no problem and I am not a gold subscriber.

 

I think it varies with the strength of your signal. I used to have problems with HD but moved my router closer to my Xbox and connected directly (not wireless) and now it works just fine.

 

Actually I just subscribed again and a standard account for $7.99 only gives you standard definition. So if you're paying $7.99 only, that's the problem. I subscribed to the 2 screens + HD plan, which goes for $8.99. There's also a 4 screens plan for $11.99
I think which gives you HD+Ultra HD.

 

Ok thx Dr black bones. I got the 7.99 streaming plan before they changed everything. Might have to change plans. Its just weird that I can do hd on my 13 year old computer and xbox before they made it where silver accounts can watch. Now it wont stream hd.

 

Yeah I totally understand. I wonder if they even e-mailed their subscribers to let them know it wouldn't be HD for users who pay the $7.99.

 

I looked at my account from netflix. There is 2 7.99 packages. 1st is for 1 screen other is 2 screen and hd. The 2nd package is what I have. I wonder if MS is throttling the bandwith since they changed it so free members can watch also. If not then I wonder
if the console is getting my full bandwith. I have tryed wireless and wired. Atm pc is the only one that can view things in HD and its older than ps3 and xbox 360

 

That's odd. For me there's just three options. The first option being $7.99 for one screen/standard definition. The second option is what I am on right now, and that gives me 2 screens plus HD for $8.99. The third option is 4 screens plus HD with ultra HD
for $11.99.

Are you also on a plan for getting DVDs delivered to your address? If so it might be that. I think it's $7.99 a month for just the DVD/Blu-ray plan and another $7.99 for streaming.

But yeah, for me it's $8.99 and I get 2 screens and in HD. Not sure why it's different on your end.
