Netflix black screen (all other video apps working)

Hi board,

I have a pretty strange issue that neither XBL or Netflix support can solve. When I open the netflix app the screen goes black and my source info on the tv pops up like it's not getting a signal, but I get occasional flashes of the app and can use the remote
normally to exit netflix and return to the dashboard (which works perfectly along with all other video apps). Now I can fix the issue by plugging the hdmi directly into the tv instead of through the home theater system, but who wants to do that. My initial
thought on it is that there is an incompatibility with the resolution of the netflix app to my home theater, but since hulu, and youtube work just fine i'm confused. I tried switching to an older xbox and had the same issue. I have tried unplugging the xbox
for over a minute, deleting the app and reinstalling, deleting system cache, changing out all hdmi cables to fresh ones, resetting the display settings on xbox, and tv. I'm at a loss and so are the manufacturers... any suggestions?

bbc iplayer next week

I bet this will have the same broken black levels as all the other video apps. Screenrush came out today, the first new app post the dash black level fix, and Screenrush has exactly the same horribly washed out blacks as Netflix, LoveFilm, 4OD and *all*
the others.

xbox fitness problems

All apps work fine accept my xbox fitness. When i try to do a workout the video pops up, i can hear it just fine, but i cant see it. there is just a black screen with the audio. I see the little black box with myself in it being video'd from the kinect,
but the actual workout video is black. all other apps work ok

I am also getting this issue now. With my old TV (1080p only screen), it had no issue at all. Now with my new TV (4K screen with 3D/Smart capability) Netflix apparently switches the resolution out to 2880x1080, forcing me to do a cold shutdown, and boot
to safe mode just to get the display back.

Anyone out there with any ideas? This has become quite annoying.

I have the same problem. It's happened quite a few times.

Series X and Lg CX.

Watching Netflix, the screen goes black. I still see the Netflix interface and if I back out of the video, I get back to the Netflix selection screen. Pressing the home button takes me back to the Xbox dash board. Going back into the video, it plays for 2 seconds, and then black screen again. At first I thought it was Dolby Vision, so I disabled that, and still black screen. Changed it from 120hz to 60hz, black screen. I ended up closing the Netflix app from the Xbox Dashboard and it seems to be working fine now.

I'm pretty tech savvy, so I can troubleshoot, but for someone that isn't, this is horrible. Especially after paying money for this thing. It should just "work"

For me all our other apps like Hulu and Netflix and Amazon Video all work fine. It’s just HBO and it just started recently in the past few weeks.

Do you use any other video streaming apps, and if so do they also black screen?
