Netflix app looks dodgy on 4k TV

I see no 4K on netflix yet my netflix tv app has all the 4K......so?

Trust me when I tell you that my xbox has plenty of bandwidth for 4k streaming. Netflix will not stream 4k in the app unless the movie is actually marked for 4K. The app only displays HD as the option, not 4K like it does on any other device that I have
that supports 4k streaming. I do notice the difference when streaming Breaking Bad (which is a 4k serious on Netflix) on my xbox one via Netflix vs streaming it from the Netflix app on my smart 4k tv. The 4k TV smart app shows the correct 4k option on the
show and the picture quality is wayyy better then on the xbox Netflix app.

There are problems with the Netflix app and settings for 4K content and 2K content. I have Sony 940D 4k TV and XBOX is forcing me to change all the brightness and contrast settings for 4K UHD disks. And those settings then make the 2K content too dark and
I have to set them again. When watching content directly on the TV using the Android TV Netflix app both 4K and 2K content from Netflix display properly. I have tried 4K discs of The Martian, Independence Day, Batman VS Superman, Star Trek and Star Trek Into
Darkness and all exhibit the same behavior. Watching Stranger Things or Wet Hot American Summer on Netflix looks fine when I use the settings for the UHD discs but when I switch to Marvel Agents of Shield the picture is way too dark. I know that the app has
been upgraded to 4K and I am paying the additional Netflix fee to get the 4K content so would appreciate some help and insight into fixing this. Thanks!

I hope they update the X1 and the Netflix app to enable 4K output....

I'm looking to get a 4K TV in time for the world cup (don't think I'm the only one)...yes I know the world cup wont be shown in 4K but the world cup is a good time to upgrade the TV, hence just hope MS are aware of just how much a world cup tends to drive
TV upgrades.

Actually, if you have a tv that has the hevc codec you can already watch 4k via the netflix app
