Netflix app lags/stalls/freezes my Xbox One

Having the same problem. The one in my basement is a Xbox one year one that's the one with the problem I've tried wifi and hard cable into it just loads and loads and nothing. Freezes my console. My xbox one on second floor is wifi always and runs perfectly
when it comes to Netflix. *** me off because my xbox in basement is connected to my 90" screen. Netflix is the only app that doesn't work. Just watched foxnow on it

 

K just figured it out. If your using any type of hdmi splitter box that's the problem. Just disconnected it runs like new everything is good now

 

First gen Xbox one. First time I load Netflix works fine. If I sleep/shut off Xbox and then come back and try to run Netflix it lags badly. To the point where it causes the whole Xbox to freeze up and you can't even hit the Xbox button to go back to home
screen. Only fix I've found is a hard reset. Then it only works the first time you use it. Next time it freezes again. This is extremely frustrating to the point where I'm considering selling my Xbox and getting a ps4. Will someone please find a solution to
this issue. Its been happening for months.

 

BTW I'm running a direct HDMI line to the TV and I'm on a hardwired lan connection.

 

I have my Elgato plugged in at all times, and that was what was causing this issue for me. I closed the capturing program and it started working instantly. Thank you everyone!

 

This just happened to me for the first time today, I can not get it to work no matter what I do. I tried unplugging the power, unplugging the HDMI-cable, hard-reset, etc, etc.

This is a huge bummer and I feel so cheated! My Xbox One is the easiest way to watch Netflix for me and without this app I don't know what to do.

 

I've been having this issue for awhile now. Only fix I have found was unplugging the Xbox and then unplugging the HDMI cable then replugging HDMI then power. Only works for one shot then I have to redo it if I play a game.

 

Same issue here. Been having this issue for over a month now. Support calls to Netflix get me nowhere, followed all their steps, called my ISP to reset everything, no luck at all...they just blame Microsoft. Netflix works on all other devices just fine

 

Guys here is what you need to do.

Step One: Uninstall Movies & TV App, Netflix and BluRay Player.

Step Two: Change your console settings from instant on to power saving mode.

Step Three: Hold the power button down on your console until the white light on the adapter turns orange.

Step Four: Unplug the console and television set from the wall and wait five minutes.

Step Five: Plug the devices back in and power them up.

Step Six: Reinstall, Netflix, Movies & TV and BluRay

This will fix the errors you are experiencing.

I've never had an xbox before this and frankly I don't think I'll get one again... I've been going in circles between tech support chats/calls trying to figure this out, not ONE person mentioned that it was an ongoing issue other people had been having!
Xbox support chat said it was an app issue, Netflix support said my box was having issues connecting to their servers and was timing out so it was an ISP issue (and also wasn't clearing cached memory correctly for the app which is concerning), ISP said everything
is hunky dory on our end so go call Xbox. I'm ready to throw the thing in a dumpster. Wired, wireless, even on a new *** gateway. A powercycle like DeusAeon suggested didn't fix it either. I've done power cycles like that at least five times at this point.
How much do PS4s go for these days...?

 

I am having the same issues. Done everything that anyone in the world suggested and nothing works. Mine even go so far that I can connect my laptop to the xbox's TV/HDMI-in and watch/play anything. As soon as press play on my laptop to play a movie from
Netflix it stalls my tv screen but continue with the picture/video on the laptop. My issues:

1. Netflix work fine on laptop and mobile phone but not on Xbox one. All connected to the same network.

2. Netflix on Xbox one takes forever to load

3. Once loaded to cursor between movies/settings takes forever to move (basically unusable)

4. Once a movie is selected it loads forever and ever and ever the comes up with a screen telling me that it cannot connect to Netflix and give three selections: Retry-More details-Exit. UI-502 appears on the right hand bottom corner. Clicking any one of
them takes forever to go to the next screen/exit.

5. It stalls the Xbox so badly that by pushing the Xbox button once on the controller does nothing. You have to keep the button in to restart the console.

6. And as I mentioned before does not want to play the movie on my tv even though it is playing on the laptop. TV will display all your selections hopping from one movie square to selections etc. No problem but as soon as you press the play button it stalls
the TV.

So I don't know anymore but what I do know is that Bill Gates is spending our hard earned money and that we are sitting with a problem that has not been soIved since 2013. Maybe I should unplug the fridge also when doing my 8755'th power restart????

 

I've been having this issue for months. The previous suggested answer did nothing. After calls to Netflix and Microsoft, nothing has happened, and this was months ago as mentioned.

Has anybody had any luck?

It's 2016 and this issue still exists. It's absolutely pathetic. I can watch Netflix on my DS but not my Xbox One. What a
[Mod Removed] joke. Fix it for [Mod Removed] sake.
