Netflix and Hulu voice commands not working.

This seems to be recent, probably since the last update, but I've just noticed it the past week or so. Netflix and Hulu voice commands all respond with "Can't ______ from here." Insert whatever is said in the blank. The commands seem to work when you
say "Xbox Select" first, but I can't directly pause, play, stop, or anything else like I used to. Anybody else having issues? Anybody find a solution? Any help would be appreciated, even if it's just someone official saying "We're working on it." Thanks

I am also having trouble with the voice commands. I can not navigate or give the commands to play pause or any of them. The green words use to pop up to choose, but now nothing pops up and I can't control the movies/shows like before

I'm a quadriplegic and have no use of my hands. I am sick of xbox not dealing with this issue!!!!!! I DON'T HAVE THE OPTION TO PUSH BUTTONS ON THE CONTROLLER! The only reason I got the xbox one was because it offered voice control of my Netflix. They blame
each other! Microsoft blames Netflix and it just goes in circles! I'm wondering if another option would be more user friendly. Maybe I will try a Sony product since nobody here seems to care!

 

I am having the same issue as well, and it started roughly a week ago too. I have tried recalibrating the Kinect voice detection with no luck. Voice command does seem to work as normal outside of the Netflix app. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Odd that this is still popping up for you. Since this began have you tried deleting the app and re-installing it to see if there is any change in voice command performance?

 

I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It did not resolve the problem. As soon as I uninstalled Netflix I was prompted to reinstall it. Did I not completely uninstall it?

 

This is effecting all of my media apps. Maka, do you have any more suggestions? Is anyone else in the community experiencing this?

Do you have voice command issues with anything other than media apps? Does your Xbox One pick up commands while on the Home screen?

 

Yes, it does pick up voice commands on the home screen and I can navigate as normal. I can also turn on and off the Xbox One with voice command. So far it just appears to be effecting all of the media apps.

 

To check, is your Xbox One currently part of the Xbox One Update Preview by chance?

 

I don't think I am part of the Xbox One Update Preview. I haven't gotten any invites to be a part of it. And I haven't downloaded any apps.

Voice command still does not work with any of my media apps. It is a pretty big bummer

Can you please list the apps you have experienced this trouble in so we can best help out? I understand Netflix is one, which has an issue our team is aware of but I'm interested to know which other media apps you're experiencing this with.

 

Mister Maka, following your answers and apakunah48 replies, he (she?) could be speaking directly for me. I've tried all your suggestions to no avail, but then, right about when the E3 stuff started (two days ago?) it started working normally again. The
live event player worked fine all along, but I was having problems with Netflix and Hulu. Some other people, when I was looking around online, had also complained about Amazon Prime having the same issue, but I can't confirm that myself since I don't use
it. As of this moment, for no reason I can fathom, my problem seems to be resolved. I'm hoping the same holds true for apakunah48 also.

 

I tried using voice command with Netflix last night but it still does not work. So far the apps I have experienced this with are Netflix, Blueray player, video files via the media player. Those are the main apps that I use to watch videos. I will try a few
other video apps later today and report back.

I can still turn the console on and off and navigate the home area with voice.

Thanks for clarifying that apakunah48. When you calibrated your microphone did you perform it with the soound up a bit louder than usual? Sometimes when watching video that audio can get in the way of your commands if it's louder than normal. It's also worth
giving one more power cycle a try, as WildGues' issues began to clear up this week.
