Netflix and Amazon Lovefilm - Choppy Framerate

Thanks, General Andy 1, but that's not the issue that we're talking about in this forum. We're talking about how video in general is juddery, skipping frames, and in general just isn't smooth for Netflix, Amazon, and others. But, according to Blood Inside,
this has been fixed in the latest update.

The issue in the link you shared is related to a difference in signal Hz in the UK, which is also another issue that needs to be fixed haha. Thanks, though!

 

Watched the avengers on netflix last night to test fast moving action, previously would have been unwatchable, now very much sorted. Will keep testing this week and report back, in case the problems return at any point, but it's certainly looking positive.

 

thats good news (Blood Inside), i was worried this fix as only for 50hz TVs. I got registered, but not in the beta yet. Anyone else tried it?

 

Yes, I have the beta too and there are massive improvements. I still don't think it's perfect, but there's a bit of analysis paralysis creeping in and I'm going slightly mental looking for frame-rate issues. It really is miles better though, we can all
relax.

 

I know what you mean, I'm totally OCD looking for frame jumps and stuttering now lol. By and large I think it's really not there anymore. Watched some episodes of Arrow, which I previously had to swap to my 360 for, and despite spending most of the time
really looking for things to go wrong, they were absolutely fine.

I've even tried applying the motion plus stuff on my tv - yknow the stuff that MS support said was probably the problem *cough* - and Netflix even runs smoothly with that set to on. So thumbs up from that perspective I guess.

Now if only the console would output DTS-HD audio correctly...

 

I just got into the beta and can also attest that the video playback seems fixed now! Great news!

 

hey guys , thats good news, so how about the bitrate of netflix? did that improve , too? guys with the beta: please watch Example Short 23.976 and tell us about the bitrate you recieve!

 

I had noticeable jitter on every type of video playing through the xbox. be it from Vudu, Netflix, Amazon....But i'm glad to say looks like the preview of the new March release fixed it!

Today i got a netflix update, now it works perfectly, no jidder and no low bitrate! Thanks!

 

My netflix build is 2.1.6.19 is that the latest build? as my update notifications no longer work and it's not prompting me for an update when i load it up.

 

Both Netflix and Love Film (Amazon Instant Video) run on AWS (Amazon Web Services) so if there are connection issues to one, it is likely it will affect the other one too.

 

Bad news folks, the current beta of 1404 dashboard update has made some of the frame skipping return in Netflix and Amazon. Not anywhere near as bad as before, but it's a step back since the nice fix in 1403.

Have posted on the preview forums so HOPEFULLY this will get fixed before the final build is released in April.

 

Amazon instant video has serious frame rate issues, Sound is fine, but the video studders. It worked great until Sunday Afternoon , march 23.

 

I've got the same issue with amazon instant video (The sound is okay, the video studders)

Xbox Video works perfect.

 

I've noticed some improvements as well since the last updates... Netflix didn't seem to studder.

Not sure about Vudu though... i haven't seen an update for that app in some time.
