I can not set netflix to output 1080p@24fps, my tv set always shows input 1080p@60hz, same with amazon vod. Will there be an option to set the framerate accordingly?

    :)

8GB total RAM, 5GB available for games.

Just a note here. I saw a lot of people talking about 4K. Gaming on Xbox One is 4K is NOT going to happen. The Xbox One is going to ship with HDMI 1.4b.. That will allow 4k at 24hz, which is about equivalent to 24fps. The HDMI 1.4b source just cannot handle
anymore bandwidth than that period. So you will be able to watch 4K blu-ray movies at 24fps.. and technically you could game at 4K but you wouldn't get over 24fps which is serious suckedness. Now with the HDMI 1.4b technically you could achieve higher than
1080p at 60fps as the port will allow up to 120hz at 1080p... but I don't know if the console is going to be locked on 60fps. They may decide that is the standard as most TVs and monitors just say "HDMI", but they don't say which one. All HDMI can do 60hz,
so they may just lock it to be safe.

Netflix: No UHD on XBOX One S

I can verify this issue...Netflix UHD does not work on Xbox One S. I have a Vizio M55-D0 with the latest firmware enabling HD10 support. My TV is now recognized by the One S video settings as 4K HDR capable. I am able to enable HDR support and it works beautifully
with the Blu-Ray app (Mad Max 4K Blu Ray playing 4K, 24fps, HDR as verified by the Vizio settings app). However when I start Netflix, the screen flashes, colors mute, and video fails to switch to HDR or 24fps. Netflix app is clearly broken right now for HDR.
If I switch HDR off on the One S, Netflix app is fine, plays 4K correctly, colors are fine obviously no HDR.

Unless I am mistaken, the frame rate is already 24fps on all the streaming apps.

i read that the movies are encoded in 24p, but when i play them the xbox one converts them to 60hz by using some pulldown mechanism. the output on the xbox one is 60 hz , at least my tv shows 1080@60 when i hit the info button(samsung un55es6100)

I guess I don't see how Frames per second has anything to do with the 60 Hertz your TV is, which is the frequency or cycles per second. Yes in a small way there is a way to make a relationship, but I've seen inaccurate attempts from people to compare 1hz
    = 1fps.

there are no playback device that exceeds 24 with the exception of some new digital movie theater projectors running at 48.

In the end what is the problem, are you having a picture quality issue?

Did you ever watch a blueray in 24 frames? That looks great! When xbox recieves 24frames from netflix und puts them into 60hz, this is done by a puuldown where every second frame is shown 1.5 times longer. There are devices out which are able to send that
24 frames from netflix to the tv. When the tv is capable of 120 hz, most of them are today, the 24frames look just smoother because every frame is shown the same lenghth. That ends up in much smoother movement and is closer to cinemalike feeling! As the xbox
is capable of outputting 24 frames, why not use it for vod? It does it already for blueray!

Now they just have to fix the lip sync issue for Blu-ray when you have the 24 fps enabled and it will be usable... Netflix 1080p@24fps :(
