nephew changed gamertag can't access on my console without downloading new profile ...

my nephew changed his gamertag today but when i look on my profiles to sign in with it still has his old name. when i tried to log onto his account to test if it would update on its own i get the error "Sorry, this profile can't connect to Xbox Live on
this console. To fix, download it again. "

i am worried about his saved games. all the saves on my console are tied to his old gamertag what is going to happen to them if i download his new profile? will they automatically change to his new account name? am i going to have to somehow copy and paste
the saves to the new account somehow? i'm not sure how this is going to work. i would be really sad if he lost all his saves on my console because he changed his gamertag.

Downloading Profile Problems

I'm getting error code 80151006. This happened when I changed my gamertag on my new 360. My old gamertag and profile downloaded just fine on the new console but now that I changed it I can't download it. I've also tried to download my profile with my new
gamertag on my old console, it also will not download and I get the same error code.

 

Ran into an issue with backwards compatible games. (Please Help.)

It gives you an option to download new profile (Gamertag). It will have you enter your email address and password, and everything should be there. I changed my Gamertag last week and everything worked perfectly fine.

 

Hello muteownz! So you can move game save files between gamer profiles. I found a youtube video to shows you how
[mod removed] So you wont worry about losing anything when you download your profile.

 

i downloaded his new profile name and the old one disappeared and all the saves changed to his new name so everything seems to be looking good. i was just worried about doing anything before losing his saves on my console. thanks for the reply.

@ lenzio,saves are tied to one profile & can't be moved to another.What they are doing in the video you posted a link to is strictly against the ToU/CoC & will result in a ban.

@muteownz sharing accounts & log in details is also against the ToU/CoC

Just remember,using any type of outside software to do something with your profile is a bannable offence

 

parents are not allowed to know their kids / nephews account info in case they lose it? that is news to me i'll have him change his info. sorry. i didn't even know his info i had to get it from his mom so i could make sure his account was working for
when he comes over to visit and play my xbox i didn't know of the wrong doing.
