    NEED XBOX SLIM DATA TRANSFER CABLE!


    My parents got me an xbox 360 slim 4gb for my bday, but my games are needing more storage. I can find a hard drive, but I need a data transfer cable that can transfer data from an xbox 360 slim to a slim hard drive. Can someone tell me where to get one?

    [/quote]Slim to slim the old transfer cables don't work, but old to slim they do. You need that old chunkier connection for the old Hard Drive. I did my mates transfer, I did mine, and I lent my cable to another friend to do his.

    250GB HDD to 320GB HDD

    The Data Tranfer Cable will not transfer data from one Slim HDD to another Slim HDD.

    You should be able to get one anywhere that sells the console. Or you can use a flash drive to move data over.

    As long as you're transferring data from an old style HDD, your old cable will work fine. The end that connects to the console is a USB, which will connect to both original and slim Xbox consoles.

    If in the future, however, you upgrade to a 320GB HDD, you will need to get a new cable to transfer data from a slim-model hard drive. (Either that or use a flash drive.)

    You could get the Slim by Slim data transfer cable if you're not a gold member

    xbox 360 - E74 error - data transfer

    If the console with the E74 is a slim, you plug the HDD into the new Xbox and then transfer using a USB. If not, you will need the

    Xbox Transfer Kit     to move the data. You could also use a friends Xbox and USB stick to move your data as well.

    Hope this all works out for you. The Slims are nice and quiet!
