Need to replace headset adapter cable/cord

Hi. My wonderful cat chewed through my xb1 headset adapter cable. The short one that comes with the adapter. It has a 2.5mm female plug To a 3.5mm male jack. can i replace it with a typical 2.5mmFemale plug to 3.5mm male jack audio adapter or because its
a headset do i need a special adapter? Thanks

You are going to need a hdmi to dvi cord. You can use a hdmi cord with a dvi adapter but thats costly and skimpy. For sound, if you have a headset with an optical cable, use it. If not, get an audio adapter for sound. If you get the adapter, remember to
get the splitter cable also

 

4 Headsets gone in a month

Having actually tested the headsets out multiple times I've come to the conclusion that the problem is with the adapter. The cord that connects your headset to the adapter is the cord that is continuing to short out on me. I bought a new adapter today (my
3rd or 4th) and my headsets all work again. So i guess this is the cost of buying a headset that is not made specifically for the xbox one. you will have to replace your adapter regularly. At least I can stop throwing money out the window on headsets now.
Not that they are that much more expensive than the adapter anyways..

 

Hey, Whyte! I believe that you can use just a generic cable for this without having to get the one from us. Worst case, if it doesn't work, you can take it back to your retailer for a refund! Post back and let us know if it works, though. I'd be interested
in knowing for sure!

 

just an FYI my cord got loose on the ends and started causing an echo. I bought one off the verizon website 3.5mm female to 2.5mm male and it worked fine.

 

You can't use a generic cable I've bought three so far and none of them work

 

There will be two different types of 2.5mm female plug To a 3.5mm male jack adapters out there available.

One will be for just headphones (headset or earbuds without a mic), and the other will be for L/R headphones, and a mic. You can tell by the number of rings in the adapter stem. For this to work, it needs to be the latter because the headset has L/R output
sound, and mic input receiving (3 rings).

 

Well so any generic cable will work just as long as the 3.5mm end has 3 rings? I ran into a similar problem today.

 

I couldn't find were to buy one i looked in walmart and krogers to no avail been trying to find one for ever
