Need to disassociate Gamertag from my Mircorsoft account

This is horrible service!

I have had to delete my 10 year gamertag and my son's 7 year gamertag because I was unable to change the e-mail that was associated with it. Attempted to "add alias" but, Microsoft seems to want to verify that it is me, though I just logged in, by sending
me an e-mail to an account I cannot access. Additionally, my 9 year old son's gamertag is associated with my primary e-mail account and it seems I cannot disassociate it from it. What are my options other than closing my entire Microsoft account, which again
is my primary e-mail address for my life, and starting over? Can Microsoft actually provide service to its customers?

This is an error that occurs often. You need to disassociate the account on here from your microsoft ID account, and make sure your actual gamertag is the sole account using the proper email.
