Need to change my account home

The home Xbox sharing feature is meant to be used by families in the same household with two consoles not across the internet with random friends. Using it across the internet with random friends could be considered marketplace theft and could result in
bans/suspensions. However, if want that reset you will have to contact support directly as they are the only ones that can reset that counter. Keep in mind since there is a 3 change per year limit they are not obligated to do it but definitely worth a try.

Yes, you want to make his Xbox the "home" Xbox.

However, you need to do that with YOUR account and your account needs to stay on that Xbox (you don't need to be signed on anymore after making the 'home' Xbox change).

Make sure no other account on that Xbox has it set as the 'home' Xbox.

After making those changes on your Xbox only you have access to Gold/Game Pass and you have to be signed in to your account.

- I had set up password sign in on my friend’s Xbox, so when he needs to sign into my account, they’ll need the PW.

You only need to set his Xbox as your account's "Home" console and then your console as his account's "Home" console. Once you do that you can even remove your account from his console as long as you don't change the Home setting. You can only have one "Home" console at a time so if you also made your Xbox the "Home" of your account as well as on his console, you may have removed the "Home" designation on his console. He shouldn't ever need your password to your account. And logging into an account that you do not own is a violation of the TOS and can lead to permanent bans. It does not matter if permission is given since sharing your account details is also against the TOS.

On the Xbox One, when account makes a console it's home console, that shares the purchasing account's license with all users on the console without the purchasing account needing to be logged in.

Once the account changes it's home console, the previous home console no longer has the license to share the content unless the purchasing account is logged into the console that now has to be connected to the internet.

He does not need to be physically at the console to change the home console

He just needs to be on his account on another console to change the home console

If he is gamesharing then that's one of the results

You do not need to change the home console everytime you go to another console but you have to be signed in on live to use your games without setting a new home console so maybe he is gamesharing either way you need to work it out with him

Remind him he shouldn't be lending out his account or content

Home console is meant forpersonal use and family not for exchanging gamesn
