NEED REcheck for update button

I had a game (ARK) start to update yesterday, it halted for no reason, several other games completed updating after it halted. I tried rebooting the xbox, through the menu. Came up with E200 error at restart... fsck. Had to do reset to even get the thing
to boot, it eventually started trying to repatch games, never showing up on the updates tab, just appearing in the queue. (grrr) ARK just gives an 80070057 error when I try to launch it. Seems like a 'rescan for updates' button would solve a great many of
the issues I've read about. Meantimes I cannot play a game and do not want to reinstall a 70gb game on the off chance it won't fix anything. The fact that the xbox os is so stupid that it killed itself because of a game update problem is going to be funny
in a few years, after I get done being furious at the incompetence.

The real question is what to do about the 80070057 error?

Why are there so many question about it and so few answers (other than the one referring us back to a stupid post about the 360)

Change Birthday

Always best to create your own thread rather than bump an old one. Unfortunately once you enter a birth date and the account is created you cannot change it. You would need to create a new account. Always best to recheck your info before you hit the submit
button.

 

Can't redeem Xbox Live Code

Well recheck the card and if it doesn't work you need to contact xbox live support

I own it digitally, for quite some time.

I finally browsed to the store page and it wanted me to install it from there, even though it was already installed.

The size of what it installed didn't match the size of the game already installed (about half the size) but it appears to work now.

The xbox is still stubbornly refusing to show updates, and it's back to randomly turning itself on (I use power save mode)

... so I had a new problem with a different game, fortnite, which takes forever to launch anyhow, it gets through it's 5 minute startup to say "you need an update before you can continue.

no updates in the queue no way for me to MAKE it check, tried rebooting the xbox, still no update, try launching game NOW it decides to find an update.

There are no swear words to describe how annoyed I am with Microsoft's laziness.

I reiterate WE NEED A FORCE CHECK for updates, because Microsoft continues to demonstrate that it isn't competent to check on it's own.

 

Hey Seedenator! Apologies for the issues you've been having. If these games are installed on an external hard drive you may want to try a different one. If not, you may want to try a
