Need Kinect to sell X1?

Trying to get some store credit and GameStop employee says I need the kinect to sell it. Um what?? I bought it without the kinect, why would I need it to trade it in??

Why cant I unplug the Kinect?

Make Kinect optional. Keep the current verison as a bundle that cheaper than buying a system and Kinect separately, sell Kinect as $150+ separately and sell a version without Kinect that is cheaper. Problem solved except MS is shoving it like its something
we need which is garbage logic.

 

Resetting Xbox 360 S & Kinect

I am currently replacing my Xbox 360 S with a new, limited edition one. I was wondering how to reset the console to factory settings. Also, I am planning to sell the Xbox 360 Kinect since I use the Kinect on Xbox One. Is there anything I need to do with
Kinect before selling it to make it safe to sell?

Sell it on eBay. I'm sure you'll get a LOT more money for it.

 

Gamestop employee incompetence.

 

I stopped trading things in at GameStop long ago. I got way more on eBay even with seller's fees.

 

selling stuff at gamestop is like saying please rip me off and kick me in the butt on the way out of the store.

Despite the fact that I have left the Forums, I simply cannot ignore this post because what I have to say is really important and I don't want you to waste your money.

DO NOT trade anything at Gamestop, because the value that you will get for whatever you're trading in will be ridicuously low; thus making it not worth it.

I agree 1000% with "BizarroMantis" because quite frankly, the only thing that Gamestop is good for is when they have games on sale with something like...

" Buy 2 games & get 1 game free " or " Bargain Bin games " (better deal than " Buy 2 games & get 1 game free ")

I traded in some stuff at EB Games last week games I never play any more. Heres what I got (NZ$)

Need For Speed Rivals (Xbox 1) $17.60, Tropico 4 $13.20, Just Cause 2 $4.40, Mass Effect 3 $4.40, Tomb Raider Xbox 360 edition $6.60, Star Ocean the last frontier $6.60, Battlefield 3 $2.75.

It beats and saves selling it on Trade Me. And it only takes a few minutes. So, I paid only $54.44 for The Crew on Xbox 1 instead of the full RRP $109.99 which my country sells it for.

Earlier this year I traded in Watch Dogs and Lego Marvel Super Heroes at EB, and got $67 for the two games. Probably got more money since those games aren't very old.

You shouldn't need the Xbox 1 Kinect Sensor if you only want to sell the console. Don't they know as an authorized Microsoft/Xbox retailer that Microsoft makes Kinect-less SKU's? You could try selling it through other means. But if you're looking for a quick
sell and don't want to do any work or hassle yourself, you could do it through them. But you'd probably get more money by other ways of trading.

 

they want it with the Kinect so they can rip you off even more. Also they are looking at the resale point that's why they only will take trade ins if it has a Kinect with it. My gamestop has a sign up for X1 and ps4 that they will only take trade ins on
the system with cameras included.

 

What about Walmart? They buy used games but I don't know about consoles.
