Need HELP

Ok posting this here because no one ever seems to answer on the preview forums

Ok so i turn the xbox off the controller goes off all lights go out yet i can still feel the console working, i left it came back a few hours later and the controller (which sits on top of the vent) and the vent where both warm, Now i know if the console
turns off like it is meant to then the vent will be cold. just turned my xbox off and gone on my 360 and i can still feel heat from the vent

I'm not totally understanding this. Are you saying that someone on Live is pulling off some sort of hack on an account that's on your Xbox because of the IP and they're keeping you offline? Hell, I didn't even know they could do that.

Have you tried customer service? Or maybe even a ping test?

It sounds like you might have a faulty drive or a faulty disc. Have you tried another disc?

EDIT: Disregard my last line as it sounds more like the update has caused this bug in some X1's and you've just been really unlucky with timing. No doubt MS will fix it soon.

 

so you're wondering why it's still warm after being shut off?

 

It's on 'Instant on' mode, so you can switch it back on with your voice. It needs to be in Power save mode for it to switched off completely.

 

no i left it for about 4 hours came back and the vent and my controller was still hot now normally when i go back to my console the vent and controller are cold its always been in instant mode its since this new update first it messes my static IP up then
my nat type and now this

 

that's weird .. although i have noticed that before even on 360 from time to time .. but nothing consistent .. have you tried disconnecting the console from the outlet completely and then back again?

 

What most likely happened is someone broke in to your house and was playing your Xbox while you were out. They probably fled out the window when they heard you return home.

 

Does the X1 keep its fan going while down loading updates/games....etc? I honestly can't remember if mine does this or not, l know the 360 does though. Is this what's happening?

 

are you on instant on?

also i noticed this (and haven't seen anyone mention it) but even if you turn the system completely off it'll still power up your external hard drive. Also if the xbox is hot, the fan will run even in sleep mode.

 

yeah before the latest update coz there has been 2 with the first new update my controller wouldnt switch off but the console would now the controller turns off with the console but the vent is still warm and so is the controller and this is hours after
iv turned it off

 

Just unplug it. That's what I do after every use.

 

i dont though i use the instant on function for a reason
